Yes, open office will open all the Microsoft office documents and it's free. I will try and convert the files to a PDF when I get out of the airport and in the office. Then you can open them no problem.

Ed there several free programs shareware that you can find online. I think one is called Open Office but don't hold me to that.

Joey,
I seem to have a problem with getting the last 2 downloads someone posted from the Yahoo site - I forget what the other one was - downloads tell me that I have to have "Office" installed, or buy it.
Any way to fix the downloads so I can get them without buying Office?

Guessing why Ed? That is indeed a KF 4-1200 rib, You asked about the profile of an Avid speed rib vs.Kitfox 4-7 (Riblett) rib and that's exactly what you got. The pics posted were taken personally in my shop and show each rib with their lower surfaces against a straight edge to best highlight the profile differences. I'm not certain which you might define as "flatter", however, if you look closely you can see several notable differences between the lower surface profiles. Hope that helps.

Thanks for posting. I edited the title to make it a little more clear so the search engine will pick it up better.

I had a hard time getting the idle rpm down since there is no longer a load on the engine, to prevent the chatter that sioux201 refered to.
I ended up machining the carb. slides on a lathe to reduce the size of the cut out which allows air for idle.
Others like Leni were able to get the idle RPM down with carb adjustments only as I recall.

On the top right side of the page click on your name.
Click on My Settings
Click on Email and Password
You should be able to change your Password
Within that menu is where you can put your location in and set up your little Avatar picture as well.
If that doesn't work John email me and I'll take care of it. I have Admin rights as well and I'm not as busy as Leni at the moment.

But you forgot to mention Fairbanks, Tok, points beyond Anchorage where it gets down to -70 And, the plug-ins on the parking lots where you have to start your car every 2 hours - and the planes cant shut off the engines -
Been there and done that! I miss both the good and bad of Alaska while I get sunburn down here in Mizry!

Leni - You are still there - thought maybe you were in Hawaii and missing the good stuff and new members.
You don't really have to answer this.

DOUG, THANKS - But I just have to guess that the Speedwing rib is flatter than the Kitfox 4, because the other rib is not labeled, and doesn't look like Riblett to me. Guessing is not my best asset.

Welcome John, sounds like you will have some useful input,I guess we all have a little to offer but the more the merrier.Did you have to add much weight in the tail going to the 2200 and does it outperform the 582 by much. Thanks Randy

its easy. Drain the gear box, take the bolts out all around the gear box halves, split it carefully or you will tear the gasket. take out the allen bolt on the end of the coupler. It is inside the bottom spur gear in the gear box. Take all the bolts off the gear box and she will come right out in your hands. There should be instructions that came with the clutch to swap put the parts.

PM Me the password you want to change it to and I can change it for you. Or you can hit the forgot password button when you try to log in and it should take you through changing it, but it is easier if you just tell me what you want it changed to.
