Getting ready

Getting ready to start taxi test and tweak engine and prop pitch but fall monsoon season arrived. Now to wait for the rain to quit. Did get the tires changed to smooth tread. The knobby's were temp for final assembly. Oh well, its now legal so waiting for weather is part of the game. May end up removing the air scoop this winter. Save a couple pounds.

Thanks, has been a long process. At times wondered if it was worth it.

Guess I'll start playing with it tomorrow. 20 mph winds here today so not the best day to play with a new aircraft.  Still a couple of little things to tweak and fine tune. Curious as to what the little Hirth can do.

No, that is actually the paper on the lexan. FAA didn't even mention it when they inspected it. Its off now. It protected the lexan while trailering.

So you weren't planning on making your first flights on instruments after all?

No, been way too long since that happened! Probably never again at my age. No instrument flying, no night flying, no formation flying, no scud running, and a few others!

Okay. I was wanting to make a cover for mine. Not for just for the heat when it is outside in the summer, but to keep dust off in the hanger.

Did about 4 hrs in a 100HP Champ today in 10-15KT winds. Sloppy and rusty but plane is still useable tomorrow. On pavement, too. Instructor was hunkered down in the backseat chanting something I couldn't quite make out. Did catch a few words that can't be printed here, in between the sobs and crying.
