…and I'm stuck doing 16 hour days at work as far as the eye can see.

Larry,

It pays a lot more than the Social Security check - Look at all the gas you can buy someday!

Nothing here except storms and flooding - No flying this month!

I was in the floods in 1947 and 57 in Swampeast Missouri and Louisiana  - I swore then that I would grow up and move to hill country and live on top of a high hill - Never broke that promise to myself, even in Alaska - When the Mississippi River gets 400 feet deep, then I might worry!  (that river channel is about 12 feet deep here normally.)

Beautiful pic!  I didn't do any flying the last time home, but hopefully I will get back in the saddle next hitch!

Leni,

Alaska is a big state - but, isn't the air getting a little thick with smoke from the 300+ fires?

I think 9 million acres burned one year while I was there.

I see about 20 wildfires in Alberta, Canada, and there are some on our West Coast states.

We had one fairly nice day, and more storms and flooding coming tonight.  Tornado just north of me in last 2 days.

The smoke is not too bad in our area right now.  Although we did have a local fire that turned into the #1 priority fire in the nation for about a week.  Rain the last few days has helped get that one under control.  Some areas of the state are pretty well covered in a heavy layer of smoke though.
