Here's my Question.

My wife wants her own plane and I saw one for sale for $7500 needing a overhaul.

That doesn't bother me as I would put a 582 in it as it has a 532.

Any Advice would help.

I know what plane your talking about and the speed wing is not desired. I would hold out for a stol wing.

If you have an extended speed wing, I think they fly pretty darn good.  The one I flew would get in and out the same as my HH and fly just as slow.

My friend in Mpls has a 582 extended speedwing, nice flying airplane, but I can takeoff in 180 ft circle and be at 300 to 400 ft before he hits the other end of the runway at a 100 ft.
