Finally Fishing Success

It didn't look good when we hit the fog layer at the Beluga River this morning, completely covering the Inlet and when we got to the McArthur the whole valley was completely socked in.  We decided to fly up to the glacier end of Beluga lake to land and wait it out for a spell to see if the fog would lift.  Found a neat little clear stream and landed at teh makings of a perfect camp spot; if fact there was a Stinson with a family camped there.  We walked to the stream and it look good but couldn't get anything to even follow a lure.  On the way back to the plane we came across someone's misfortune and now an Alaskan monument.  About 11:00 we decided to go back to the McArthur to see if the fog had butned off; fortunately it was right at the edge of our spot so we could sneak in under it.

Some friends were there that had camped out and so was a state trooper in a cub to check us out.  We didn't think starting at noon was going to be too productive be the reds were in a cooperative mood this time!  I probably caught and landed 10 reds and managed to get 3 that bit the lure so I was done about 2:00.  Daniel got one red that took the lure but probably caught at least 20 fish that were either foul hooked of shook the hook.  I got a heck of a sun burn and took a good nap in the shade of the airplane while he was out there hauling in fish.  Everything was the same as the last ime but I guess some days are hot and some days are not.

Will have to get back to the Beluga spot and see if the Silvers run up that stream....Saw some big brown bear tracks ther too.
