    Ok Kitfox book says to go right on the vertical rib where you see the stamp, which is about 5 inches back from where it is right now. the only thing I wonder is the kitfox one hanges down about 4 inches where this one only hangs down 2.5 inches. With the under camber ribs wonder if mabey I should just use the kitfox one or try to lower this one with some fancy streamline bracket. what you think boys.

    For that engine you could use .049 and .058 4130. Here is mine I just finished it up tonight its for the 582 but gives you an idea. They don't take to long.

    that might be a bit heavy I would look at trailer accessory in any hardware store. they all have flat 4 and some flat 5 wire plugs male and female.

    This is good stuff, I dont want to steal this thread but what are the smaller irons you guys are using, I would like to buy one but dont know what to get, when I covered my fisher avenger I borrowed one, dont have a clue what it was but but it worked fine. what you all think. I see the 21st century one you mentioned. it looks nice

    A few more pictures for you guys
    Here is today's progress, I built the engine plate and set the engine in for the first few fittings. I set the engine 1 Degree off to the left, any shimming I need to do now I can do with washers behind the engine mount, It is kind of a tight fit, I had to shorten an engine stud, Cut some of the electric starter housing off. Looks like I will need to cut into my firewall if I want to keep the pull start. Don't see anyway the exhaust will clear the engine mount down tube. But that's for a different day, good news is I think the cowl will fit nice with out to much cutting.

    Sure that does make sense with the round cowl, I have a smooth cowl for my model 1 not sure what I want to do yet for my radiator. I have never done fiberglass work but am always up for a challenge. Thanks

    Why the Belly radiator on all older kitfoxes. I look at some of the newer kitfoxes and see an oil cooler way up front in the cowl and a radiator right below it molded right in to the cowl. so why is this not done with the older ones with the 582 engine set up. It sure looks nice.

    Are the little plastic screens in the carbs installed. that is if you have Bing carbs What they do is stop fuel from bubbling which sounds exactly like what you have. Also set the plane at a high angle of attack and do a fuel flow test. Its a two stroke, if it has air and fuel it will run. Just have to figure out what the problem is.

    i might get an order together here for covering supplies from spruce. on an average to cover a kitfox of avid how much poly tac glue, and poly brush do you normally use?

    someone suggested 1201 alodine solution that looks like a nice way to go. maybe the glue from poly fiber is enough too who knows

    What is the best paint to use on my spars
    would like to paint my spars for corrosion protection, what have you guys used that works with gluing fabric to it. if I knew of a good spar marine paint I would just spray my whole wing under ribs and all.

    need some advise here
    I am wondering what to do with the back half of these brackets, should I cut them off, or taper cut them up to the trailing edge of the wing? lets hear what you all have done or seen done.
