    I think you got a good buy, in the end it doesn't really matter what it is, after you finish a year or so of working on it you will love it, Alot of folks want to buy Flaperons for these older birds but really if you look at them they shouldn't take more than a couple days to make, there is really nothing to them. If you choose to finish it over the next year you will learn alot.

     Where you have your marks, On my model 1 it is 8 7/8 between. If you go where the bolt sits it is 10 inches between, I would bet you there all the same.

    Now those are some nice pics, looks like you got the good stol wings on it, one thing I notice is on your rear spar it looks like the front of the spars have been cut out like you do for the folding option, is this normal in Avid Construction, on the kitfox you only cut out the back half.

    Well I just couldn't spend 40 some dollars on 2 seals, So I bought a sheet of Viton Rubber enough to make 4 of these for half price, the company assured me this stuff is good for 10% ethanol, Not that I plan to run that but if it can handle that it should be good for me.

    my caps are from 1985, when I bought new tanks from kitfox they didn't come with caps. Im thinking about buying some gasket making material and cutting my own.

    We use to have a sweet restaurant like that close to me, It was called Barnstormers in Norfolk Nebraska, My wife and I would fly my little Challenger there for Sunday Brunch it was awesome right off the Runway, but I heard its all closed up, Lots a chain Restaurants around here now, Guess that's why my wife and I Love Wisconsin so much, You can always find a great Mom and Pop place to eat for a low price with way more food than you need,

    Just don't fall out of the sky. if you do have air in the system more than likely it will eat the inside of the engine out. Saw that happen last year on a friends Challenger. They Changed oil after 50 hrs on a brand new engine and it only took 7 hrs to blow to pieces.

    With powder coated struts I wouldn't think you would need to do much of anything other than a couple coats of varnish, Are you covering them with fabric? If so Lacquer and Poly-fiber do not mix well. I would like to use that shrinkable RC plane covering sometime its pre finished how nice would that be. Or maybe Orex too.

    Does anybody have the skystar original part number for the strut rodends for like a model 3 or 4,  I ordered one from Debra at kitfox and the one she sent me does not look anything like the ones I have seen on the kitfox 3's and 4's The one she sent me has a number on it REF-4-18M and the ones I have seen I think are HW-4M-12 She said the one she sent me is the only one she has listed in the computer, Maybe the ones I have seen are not the ones that Kitfox uses?
