  1. Is there an outlet for rubber bushings for the Mark IV radiator mount? They are two peice. One side is 1 1/4 OD, 5/16 thick with a 3/8 hole in the center. The other is 1 1/4 OD, 7/16 thick and one side has a 3/4 raised area where it sets into the mount. Picture attached.

  2. Yes I used your link and purchases the smaller gasket. The larger gasket was super expensive. If I needed the larger one I'd try and call a snowmobile shop and see what the price was for one off of a 583. Some of this stuff is stupidity priced.

    Thanks JimChuk

  3. As always JimChuk comes up with another good modification for me to ponder. I will definitely look into that one for a winter project after I get this in the air. Thank you for the picture. Where would a guys find a hose bent at 90 degrees on one end to accommodate me replacing this end I have with a straight out housing?

Dusty and JimChuk your input is greatly appreciated.

  4. Attached is a picture of the top of my Bing 54 carb. You can see that the 90 degree tube was added but it fits into the top of the original cable adjuster. The brass tube does not fit tight into the adjuster and has worn the brass adjuster clear through the side. There is an adjuster on the other end of the brass tube. This does seem like the proper application of said parts. Anyone have knowledge of this setup or have pictures of there setup I van refer to?

    Thank you

  5. Thank you and yes I try not to do anything half ass. I really appreciate the guys here for all the input.

Yes the engine was fogged with some sort of oil. There was still a bunch of it in each cylinder. I plan on washing out the cylinders with a squirt can of mixed gas before running it to get rid of as much of that old oil as possible. It smells funny.

I cant wait to see your RX-1 installed. That's a good engine.  Keep us posted.

  7. I'm sorry I was confused Chopndrag. Mine are the Mark IV dual radiator type. Pic attached.

I'm no radiator guy by no means but these look dated. Would love to hear from people running the Mark IV style.

  8. I always liked the cheek radiator set up from an installation prospective but it seems from listening to others and from what I've read they are not the greatest at cooling these engines. Is there another radiator (like aluminum) or a set up that would work better without a total re-design or moving the radiator under the plane?

This engine has already been overhauled because of heating issues or so I was told. The engine didn't appear to set up properly either.

  9. I drained a little water out of the radiator while removing the front tube to the head that didn't need installed on an inverted engine. The water came out clear but turned to this overnight. I drained the rest of the water out and flushed the system.
