Im not sure on that. My bike pipes hold up to chrome plating. Question is would it be time and cost effective for something that hides under a cowling?

I took my stuff to the local sandblaster / powder coater and they said they have a product that would hold up to 1200 degrees. The flame beyond the Egt probe get hotter than 1200. Not by much but hotter. I figured I would have them do the main muffler and lower mounts in their product and I would paint the manifold and 90 degree joint with the VHT product.

If you do build your own doors these colored rivets come in real handy to make thinks look clean. Amazon.com

I got the doors finished tonight. I learned a great deal about reskinning these doors. The two sides 3M tape worked good. I painted the borders with the Fusion paint for plastics. It sticks real well. These door were a lot more work than the windscreen. I’m happy with how they turned out.

If I can get the pipe angle I want with washers I will use them for sure. If not I’ll make a spacer out of square tubing.

Joey has his mounted the same way and it works. I still might have to space mine out some as the main pipe angle where it connects to the elbow is greater than I’d like to see. I’ll install all the springs and play with it some more tomorrow.

I know right! We have a great metal store here that sells left over peices and ends from larger stock. I can get the metal for cheap. Not a lot of work to make that mount. I’m kicking around a few ideas. Joey has his mounted with these same rubber isolators. He said they are mounted horizontal right into the firewall. That would eliminate the bracket.

I could make a set of mounts like these out of aluminum angle. If I made my own I could set the depth to whatever worked.

Found these rubber bushings in my array of Airplane crap. A simple firewall mounted L bracket and it looks doable

Thank you TJay. I’ve been looking at several options but the VHT paint seems the best way for me to go. We have a homemade powder coating oven at our EAA hanger. Inwas thinking of using that to cure the coats of paint.

    iPad Mini panel mount
While Christmas shopping the other day at Costco I came across this iPad/Phone mount for a vehicle. It holds strong.  I fashioned a mount and put it on the panel. I set the mount out so I could reach it easier. I have not put the seat back in yet be I think it’s going to work good. I’ll post more later.

    Remote Muffler mount
I took the complete exhaust system off my 582 to clean it up and after looking at the stock muffler mount figure it could be set up better. I’ve also heard the engine to muffler brackets are prone to cracking.
I know I’ve heard people talk about mounting the muffler to the firewall instead of the engine. Has anyone done this and care to share there mounting system?

Sounds reasonable. It could get heavy by the time you added enough tubing to get the liquid volume you would need then adding the radiator, pump and fan.
It seems the engines cooling system has two things that make it the better choice. A pump to circulate the water and a thermostat to meter the temps. I really dont have any first hand knowledge on this as I’ve never flown one of these in the winter.
