  1. 750 horse Turbine Beaver completely restored.  1.5 million.  Only one big problem.  Its not mine.  My boss bought this a couple weeks back.  Has floats and skis.  This adds to his collection of a King Air 250,  Carbon Cub, Cessna 185, and Cherokee.  Some peoples kids.

  2. Just wanted to make rotax 912 owners aware of the fact that condensation in the oil cooler can freeze and block oil flow.  I started my 912 on Sunday.  Had 6 psi oil pressure.  Tried several times to trace it down but could not find it until I unhooked the outlet hose on oil tank and unhooked the oil line at pump.  Zero flow of oil or air through the line.  Heated up oil cooler and pressurized it to 25 psi with compressor and the blockage popped loose.  I knew it was water because of milky deposit that came out.  So be aware if your engine is running below 180 degree oil temp then the engine is probably not burning off condensation which can sit in a low spot and freeze later.

  3. We could sure use some precip. The fires you have been seeing on TV is really close to me. We packed our essentials yesterday in prep for an Evac.

Those fires in California are epic.  Makes a person wonder if someone is out there intentionally starting the fires.  I was in Oroville a couple weeks ago.  Smoke everywhere.

  4. I have the original flap control. The stick is so small it's hard to find it sometimes when I need to pull or dump flaps. Is there and upgraded flap control arm?  Do you have pictures?  Does kitfox have a better control arm they sale that will work on Avid?

  5. I would not focus so much on the donations.  The technical information helped me more than anything.  If the people in Alaska want to help him fix his plane more power to them.  I would be hesitate however to ask for donations if I crashed my plane.  :-)

  6. Hello Fellow Pilots,

I am not able to sell my damaged Avid Flyer floats locally so I will sell the rigging for $350 and you pay shipping which might be 100.  The rigging includes one rudder and the cables that attached to rudder. If your local in Alaska the whole thing is 500.  The one damaged float is repairable.

  7. The Avid Flyer Model C only has one bolt going through the spring.  I am curious if any of you have a picture of a way to secure the spring when using a two spring application.   I thought about a round clamp going through the fabric and around the spring 3 inches behind the single bolt.  What are your thoughts?
