    912UL Carb Adjustment
    I just adjusted the needles to the third (from the top) notch. It was in the second notch.

    I was having a partial throttle roughness that was getting worse in the cold weather.



    Has anyone else played with the settings on their 912 carbs?

    We're trying to plan a makeup ski fly (out?) for the following Saturday the 29th. One of our club members who doesn't fly his Pterodactyl during the winter has a fishing shack on a lake a little bit away... He's always looking for visitors!

    I'm sorry to report that the mission has been scrubbed.

    High temps are forecast to be 5° on Saturday, so the guys I was going with are backing out. We are used to the cold but not to the extent you guys in AK are. Very few people down here have "portable" preheating or bush equipment...

    You'll probably want to talk to Brett at Airdale on this one.

    If your airframe doesn't have the mount for the nose gear, you'll need to weld in the system to do this...

    Mark-- Where did you get that suit? My Carhart coat (much less add in the bibs, too) is so bulky... I can't hardly move once in the plane!

    Brett's a really good guy, he just gets a little overwhelmed sometimes... We did chat about spring gear setups and the feasibility of some type of "bungee elimination kit".

    I've offered to help when ever he needs. Now is my slow time. He has one of the guys from the neighborhood bartering for labor.


    (Rich built a real nice Avid mark IV and was going to have it inspected last Saturday. The previous Monday, counter to everyone's advise, he decided to "high speed taxi test" it and as you would expect he ground looped. Folded the left main, twisted the tail, etc, etc. Pretty sad. He was finishing the plane just as he was running out of money...)
