    Tail surface measurement help
Greetings, I'm looking for the vertical stabilizer height, bottom dimension and top dimension.
Also the same dimensions for the rudder.
Likewise I'd like the dimensions for the horizontal and the elevator. Length, width at widest part and at the outboard end.
Thank you in advance for any help.

    Flaperons for sale
    Greetings,
I purchased a Kitfox 3  kit that was only barely started. Meaning the control stick and rudder pedals were loosely bolted in and the floor board installed, that's it. It came with some extras and short on some other stuff. I've decided to go a different route with the wings since thats where I'm missing most of the parts. I see that at least 1 person on here needs a flaperon.
I have model 3 and model 4 flaperons and 2 extra sets of model 3 door frames. I would like to sell them as sets of flaperons and sets of door frames if I sell them.
The question is, what is a fair asking price for the flaperons per pair?  I am thinking $1100 for the model 4 plus crating/shipping.

Model 4 wing and control upgrade links, pictures?
Does anyone have a link or pictures of the model 4 wing and control upgrade? Which tubes are removed when installing the model 4 mixer assembly?

Jim your cup runneth over with Kitfox and Avid knowledge. I really appreciate all of your input.
I read that the earlier non- reinforced ribs had an AD or maybe it was just a Kitfox service bulletin requiring reinforcement. I believe it mentions using aluminum on both sides of the rails.
Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of the model 4-1200 tail control surfaces? Height and chord of rudder at the widest part and the width and chord of the elevator at its widest location?
I believe I will add an elevator trim tab, or depending on which control surfaces I have, I may just order a 4 rudder and elevator with trim tab setup instead of chopping mine up.

Well, I no longer need manual help. I got the $40 USB copy from John John McBean. It seems pretty complete.

Jim! That introduction was intended to sound exactly as you read it. I have so many questions now about the flaperons. I have identified the wing ribs as model 3 undercamber style and the others...the ones I have the most of as a model 4 design but with one dissimilarity from the ones I have seen pictures of.
I have looked for a serial number in the location you mentioned and haven't found one. Due to the flaperon control mounting setup and parts I have, it looks like it is a model 3.
I'm not sure where to measure width but the spar carry through is just over 1" OD and apx 0.0625" thick as far as I can tell and it measures apx. 37.125" and to end. The cabin measures apx 39.375" at its widest point near the seat pan bend.
The elevator is apx 13.375" wide at the widest point of its chord; and the rudder 15.50" wide at its widest point of its chord. The rudder stands 47" tall top to bottom.
The Flaperon mystery continues. One pair is 8" wide and has angled brackets and the other pair 10" wide with straight brackets.

Greetings from a KF3 kit owner
Greetings from Oregon. My name is Steve and I have a problem, Lol.
I just bought a new to me, 3 owner, never assembled Kitfox model 3 assortment of randomness! Or at least I'm pretty sure it is a model 3. I have a fuselage in great shape. an assortment of random stuff that definitely doesn't belong to the aircraft, Kitfox 2 ailerons? and Kitfox 3 ailerons? 3 sets of door frames, too few wing ribs of which there are 2 types... you get the picture. I really didn't know what I was looking at when I drove 10 hours one way to pick it up. there was just so much stuff. I knew I had a couple of missing ribs and that the butt ribs and false ribs weren't present. However, I didn't realize how much stuff was really missing until I started going through and taking stock of what I had and taking stock of the 2 copies of the manual it came with, which itself was missing several pages and a few sections. I spoke with John McBean and ordered the digital copy for the model 3. At least one thing is now complete.
SOOOOO, I may or may not be building a Kitfox in the near future. If / When I do, I will keep everyone apprised of the progress. Meanwhile, I'm scouring the forums and the interwebs of things, stuff and whatnot for all of the information I can find. So far I have determined I might have some avid wing ribs and some model 4 ribs, Lol. If anyone can give me some quick identifiers to check the fuselage for model accuracy I would appreciate it.
I would like to say thank you to 1AvidFlyer and Willja67 for responding to my posts and messages seeking assistance. They have both been a lot of help so far and have made me feel welcomed to the forum. Thank You, you two.

Jim! I'd be forever grateful if you did. I'd be willing to pay for the tracings too. I'm not trying to be lazy with making things by the way. I work on old bridges doing repairs and I recently got promoted so my 1...sometimes 2 days a week off aren't a guarantee anymore. I would rather throw money at buying missing parts than taking the time to make what I can get. However, talking to John McBean he had the same suggestion as you. I have a a pretty smart and handy 16 year old nephew who likes money. So I figure I will provide him the material and show him what needs done and let him at it. A good way for him to earn some cash and it will save me the time that can be better spent actually working on the plane.

1avidFlyer, thanks again. I have used that method for a fast router table before, also using a circular saw as a table saw. With the cost of CDX and other ply at the moment it's cheaper to buy a used setup off the ole craigslist, Lol.  I just ordered the KF3 manual from John McBean so hopefully I have solved 1 issue. Now all I need is a false rib and butt rib template and I will likely make all of my stuff on a router table. Or pay my nephew to do it since time is not something I have a lot of at the moment.

1Avidflyer, I appreciate the post. I am hoping to avoid purchasing tools like a router table although I have considered taking my plans for a large format 3D printer and modifying the print head carriage, as well as, the print bed to work as a cnc router setup. I'm at the point in my career that I have less time than money which is a first. I was hoping to save the former using the latter. If it comes down to it and I can't find another way I will definitely use the router idea. Thank you.

    Assembly Manual Help Needed
Greetings, I am Steve and I'm new to the Forum and the owner of a New (to me) Kitfox model 3 Kit. I picked it up yesterday. I am the 4th owner and a lot....a lot of parts are missing from the kit. I don't even know where to begin with that issue. However, I have plans to scratch build a Raven clone so some of the missing parts can be fabricated using those plans.
To the point I need help with the Assembly manual. I was given a binder about 4" thick and was told there were 2 complete manuals contained within. Well, as part of my inventory I was using the manual to identify some un-labled parts. I noticed I am missing quite a bit of the manual according to the contents page.
Does anyone have a digital copy or a spare they would part with?
I am missing the: Introduction, landing gear, revision list- parts, I didn't see an electrical, and Engine sections. I am also missing F-8, 10,12,14,16,18 and 20, CF contents and CF-15.
Could someone help me out here? Also, does anyone have leads on spare wing ribs and false ribs? I am missing a few ribs and all but 1 false rib. I appreciate any help in advance.
Also, does anyone know where I can get a complete Hardware kit or do I just need to source everything individually off of the parts lists?
    Thank You
