Thanks for the info guys, ill maybe call kitfox and see if they still sell the plastic leading edge
-
Mine also has alot of washout and is going to have more with the 18" extensions ,:(
-
Ya I seen the drawing Ed, I dont think that laker leading edge is the same stuff but that was all I could fine on there site.
-
I was just looking at the kitfox site in there catalogue for the plastic leading edge, the only thing I found was the" laker leading edge ".It says it will not apply to the model 1 through 3 hi undercamber wing. Im not sure if that is the leading edge that some of you have used from kitfox Kind of pricy too at $995 for the kit. Has anyone used anything else beside the aluminum leading edge

Glad you got it restarted the trees didn't sound like a good option

Hey Teal do you happen to know what the measurement is from the firewall to prop flange is on the Rx1, we got the engine out and are finally getting a start on it
-
Very Nice looking bird ,should be fun
-
I got the degrees by using a straight edge on the bottom of the wing were it instructed then zeroed my digital level to zero, then could figure out the angle of the flaperons from there, they were pretty close to the same degree that Randy had on his Avid +. I never did try adding weight to the tail, was meaning to try that just to see what it did ,but its now in the shop with some changes in the works,
-
Ya adjusted the flaperon angle as well so it was around -1 degree in off position,if I remember right (has anyone gone with more negative deflection), could only use about half flap settings on landing otherwise became very nose heavy and ran out of up elevator.
-
We have done a few a few tweaks on it,shimming the angle of the motor, lowering the front of the horizontal stab.and throwing weight behind the seat, they all helped a little but haven't been able to fly hands off, it stills needs back pressure on the stick. It will be interesting to see what a lighter engine and longer wings will have do
