  1. I agree with you however this aircraft operation is not typical. The 582 is used in a Dragonfly tug for the sole purpose of towing hang gliders. The entire climb duration to point of release is under full throttle. At that time the plane begins decent. So sacrificing mid range is not a concern as we don't cruise. I understand the carb jetting may have to be adjusted.
