The Ivo Ul standard pitch 3 blade prop and spinner for 912 are for sale for $350 plus shipping.  I will try to get px today and start a new thread.  You have first shot at it Jim.  Also I noticed that I never posted the Safety for the elevator trim Jim and I will get that up on that thread.

Yes Jim, another senior moment Ivo 3 blade 72" for a Rotax 80 hp 912.  Let me do a little research and get back to you on the price, it will come with the spinner in excellent condition.  I will get some pictures.

They need to be plumbed in series and how they are plumbed depends on which cylinders that you have.  You can use one set of the original MC-1's with the reserve built in  but the other set must be the remote reserve style (MC-4). MATCO has the drawings you need I think to get them plumbed correctly.

if you want to use the MC-1's put them on the left and follow the plumbing thru the right MC-4's and then out to the brakes or vise verse.
I made a couple of sets of brake pedals and they are quite easy.  Follow the suggestions for proper geometry in the above Matco info.

I went with the Warp 72 for my 912 Zipper for a few reasons, would love to have the IFA Warp but at my age I may want to go with LSA? Also at the time delivery on the Ivo was poor and the cost was a factor.  All the said I sure would love to try one, I liked my Ga UL Warp. So that was a long way around to not answering your question.  If I see one at a good price I might pick it up.  I do have a Warp 72 UL for sale if any one is looking for one for a 912 80 Hp. Ok, no answer and an attempted thread jacking sorry Randy.

You are right about that Joey.  My Avid is a little faster and burns less than half the fuel of SQ2 but boy will they land slow and short to say nothing of carrying one big load.  They are also very docile on the runway and stable in the air. I would love to own one if I had a boat load of money.  A friend of mine owns BCSC and is a great guy.  I think I may have mentioned that he has a welder that works for him that worked at Avid for years.
i don't know Jim, it sounds like your gig is pretty sweet.  I think this retirement thing is alright what do you think?

    New Play Toys
well I have some new play things to keep me interested. The black one I spent 2.5 hrs flying today. It flys down to 24 mph.  At one point it was showing a ground speed of 5mph.  The second plane is one I help finish and will be flying off the 40 hrs for the owner.  Nope neither one is mine even better I get to fly them and someone else pays the bills. The black one is a Mackey SQ2 and the other a brand new Back County Super Cub Revision 2.

  10. wypaul added a post in a topic Bad Landing, Failed Landing Gear, Missed Inspection?

The deal killer for me on the Grove gear was the three month wait to get them so I had my current tall gear built and have not regretted it for a moment.  Sorry to hear about the accident I can relate.

  11. wypaul added a post in a topic wing tank replacement

I used acetone to rinse out my tanks (new) but I suggest caution, my tanks made some interesting sounds when I use it.
i did have some Caswell epoxy soaking in gas for several years but finally threw it away with no degradation at that time.  It will be a bigger challenge to get the tank completely coated while installed in the wing but quite doable.
I also used the screws before the acetone.  The acetone may be hard on the wing finish.

Jim it is the standard radiator for the 912 from Rotax.  If I didn't have the mounts I would just go with the KF style, Meryl Williams sells one at a fair price and easy to mount.

That is the way I had my new tall gear built with no defects and would do so again.

The 912 gearbox only has the front half with the rear part cast into the engine block so that will not be very useful.

I don't know about the 5/8" Matco axles but I can tell you the 3/4" axles they sell are all but impossible to bend, tough as hell.

  19. wypaul added a post in a topic Where to buy split oilite bronze bushings

Ed I suggest you use Rulon bushings, much better and slippery as hell.  I use them in my Q2 for elevator and aileron bushings and should be easy enough to split. Also they will last.

+1 on the rivets, glueing to the aluminum is not a good option.  Might I suggest hard rivets but pop rivets will work also.

  22. wypaul added a post in a topic Glendo WY fly-in

Here are a few pics from the Glendo fly-in this weekend. We had about 20 planes and one turbine whirlybird, about 200 people.
Great times for most everyone.  Wyoming winds joined into to make the event more interesting but we did get all of the events completed including the stuffed animal drop which is a big hit for the little children including two of my great grandchildren.

    Glendo WY fly-in
We are having the annual Glendo Fly-in this weekend at 76V.  There is a bunch of us the arrive on Saturday morning and camp with the main event on Sunday. The town of Glendo provides some fuel money ($25 this year I think) for anyone that flies in and there are cash prizes for the balloon pop and the flour drop happening on Sunday starting around 8:00 am.  Also Glendo provides lunch on Sunday and we have a potluck Saturday evening with pulled pork provided by our EAA group.  It is great fun for those of you looking for a place o fly to this weekend and the weather is looking good.  This strip is good for Cessnas, Pipers and other such training type aircraft too.

  25. wypaul added a post in a topic WANTED - AVID FIBERGLASS WING COVER

Hey Ed I know that you are not into the fiberglass anymore but it sure would be easy to layup a sheet on some plastic with some epoxy.  I think that you can attach it the same way that the aluminum is attached.  I would love to make you some but being retired I just don't seem to have any time, you know how that goes, right?
