     I'm going to the same situation right now with a A model Avid, the father of Kitfox,  changing to a Mark 4 engine mount..which is of set .
     Early Avids ,tails were offset, later were straight, so eather off set engine mount ,or rudder, I'm shining the mt because fabric is good.  If I was you and you're recovering I would go with a straight tail, that way you could put engine mount offset for whatever engine your going to use

     Most tubing wall thickness is .035.  The damage looks like a pretty easy fix, but what's seat bridge truss look like?

     I have a set of three for lack of a better description T-shaped hangers for a kit fox, see attached picture That I can let go.

    Finally figured out how to put some pictures up ,sorry for the delay! Doug and crew, see you OSH
     I forward the mathematical way between floats and airplanes and the simple sheet with the 2  main measurements, three being the best to 5 inches for the CG to be ahead of the step, CG ahead  of the step and 3 degrees angle of attack! 
    Highly advise using one drive profit with stainless leading edge, I've cut through cat tails , branch is an about everything elsewith no problems
     I'll so I forward a drawing of the trailer that I've built up if you're interested I can give you more details
