Just remember, and I am sure you know, that silica is not anything you want in your lungs. Awesome set up, just make sure you are protecting your innards!

From what I can gather, they showed up at Osh in 2013 or 2014. Still only one dealer for the States after three or four years, a bit concerning. Looks like it is a factory offering in the Zlin Savage, though.

    MWfly Engines
Just came across MWfly engines while snooping around the interweb today. Seems they specialize in liquid cooled engines for ultra-light and LSA aircraft. Boxer type, fuel injected w/dual ignition. Just curious what anyone here may have heard about or experienced with these motors? Italian company, one US dealer that happens to be 4-5 hours from me.

I have used that printable template calculator for a variety of diameters and angles. As long as I feed it good information, it works EVERY time. Especially cool when dealing with two tubes of different diameters. Bookmark the link and remember you have it saved!

Looks great! Are you able to sit in the upper level rocking chair and direct the minions while they work?

What type of door did you go with? I have been frustrated trying to research doors on the interweb. No one seems to post prices, they all want to submit a quote via email.

Hang on tight and build lots of memories, it goes by in the blink of an eye. I'm sure I am not the first to tell you this and I certainly won't be the last. Thanks for sharing, awesome!

This thread is turning into a pretty decent reminder for us less experienced individuals. As in: Know what you are looking at. Sellers, honestly or not, may not be accurately representing what they are selling.

I got no problem trusting your experienced eyes! Would like to have seen the ad for the Avid but, I sure couldn't find it.

Seeing some of his other (on the job) pictures, and taking into account that he is only holding ONE wheel/tire, it must be a tail wheel!

My experience has been that there are good and bad folks in every profession. Judging any one of them as great, or horrible, rarely yield results with high accuracy.

That being said, I wish engineering school included designing, assembling and maintaining one's own creation as part of their final exam. Of course, I also wish every technician would be evaluated on their diagnostic skills. Too many 'parts changers' out there that only know the shotgun approach to repairs.

If you have been around 'human gore' (sorry) and don't feel that you have landed in an okay place afterwards, give professional help a chance. Swallow your pride and seek council from those who have been trained to provide it. Does not mean you are weak or nuts. I've yet to build a plane. When I do, I will not hesitate to gain understanding from those who are qualified to assist me. Same thing, really.

I don't know copyright law, either. My understanding is that a guy can go three different routes on existing artwork.
    1. Swipe it, use it and throw caution to the wind. Pirating
    2. Pay for one-time/single copy use.
    3. Purchase exclusive rights.

No doubt, my understanding is incomplete at best. Possibly, completely wrong...

I like the new logo. I do wish they would change the red/yellow in the lettering. May be just me, but I think the colors are somewhat dated. I would like to see the word 'KITFOX' either blacked out or just black outlined so it would go with any color the aircraft happened to be.

Thanks for filling in the details, Superman! I figured there must be a simple explanation for what happened. The Albino Deer Coalition will mention your name at the annual banquet, no doubt. Maybe just a rumor but, I heard they are serving venison this year.......

I certainly agree with the Superman part. Just don't agree with the Just Stupid STOL part. At best, it could have been a very unfortunate freak occcurrence. At worst, if it was Superman's fault, I am sure he was more than capable of crashing any aircraft.

Yes, the new brushless electric motors are very impressive! I don't think I will ever own another moody glow-plug engine. Hope all your digits make a full recovery!

Link is to the new Belite Pipper. Looks like payload will be a big consideration for many. Personally, I would be more exited at 80hp and 1,000lbs gross. The link shows a maximum of 65hp, 380lbs (2-stroke) 430lbs (4-stroke), 10 gallons of fuel with a gross of 850 pounds.

FWIW, I do know that Belite sold some Kitfox jigs and tooling awhile back. I remember receiving the email from them saying that it was to be listed on Ebay. I followed Belite closely for 1-2 years before deciding that I wanted something more than an ultralight. The fact that they will be offering a two-place aircraft may recapture some of my attention. I appreciate the fresh perspective that James brings to the table in regards to materials while keeping it friendly for the average DIY builder. On the other hand, I deeply respect the history and track record behind both, Kitfox and Avid. Then there is also the flaps or flaperon consideration. I look forward to learning more about this new offering from Belite. In the end, it is up to them to sell us on it.
