  1. Av8r-sed, I bought a aluminum tail spring that Edmo pointed out on ebay a while ago, havent done anything with it yet, just wondered how you like yours? It dosent seam like it would have much spring to it, hence my reluctance to switch out my 2 leaft steel spring!

  2. In parts for sale section there is some bubble doors for Avid lV for sale, Gary Dwinwal??

  3. My Lexan is flat, or goes with the slight bend in the frames, if you want the bubble kind youd have to use a vacume former for plastic, it heats up the plastic and sucks the air out under the soft, hot plastic against a form that youve made. Or buy them.

  4. On your doors, like akflyer said, I redid mine to, just temoved the old panels, drilled out the rivetshttp://creativemetalmontana.com/examples.htm, straightened the frames to fit better, then made a pattern of the door frame out of cardboard and cut 1/8" Lexan to fit leaveing adout a quarter inch to trim at the end, use the same rivet holes in your frame or weld them shut and drill new ones. My plastic hangs over the frame about an inch for rubber to seal it against the body.

  5. I used an adjustable fuel pressure unit on my kitfox after the mechanical pump and adjusted it to the electric pump with the engine off! 5.5 lbs. Will gravity flow fuel past your electric pump when its off? Or will you run it in tandem to the main line?

  6. If anyone needs to make parts out Alum. Ive got a freind with piles of plate in varius thickness available, he operates a cnc water jet machine and can cut out any shapes you need, these arent full sheets. The material would be virtually free, just pay for cutting ans shipping, PM me if you need anything.

  7. Ed! I bought that aluminum Kitfox V tail spring you pointed out on Flebay, does anyone know much about them, it only weighs about 5 lbs.

  8. Yep Ed, you need that transducer! I called it a sending unit! Its what tells the presure to the gauge. Every thing Ive heard or read about the 912 mechanical pump and people answered me about that here as well, was the mechanical pump fails open! If it does fail, therefor the electric pump can be in the line prior to the mechanical pump.  So after the mechalical pump Ive put a presure regulator, then the line is a T one side goes to each carb. Cant put the sender before the regulator, can it be on one leg of the line to one carb? Or conect the both lines, include the sender in that line after the regulator.I think it will need it to be in a cross over line conecting both carb lines.

  9. Howdy folks! Happy New years!! Well, Ive installed an electric Faucet back up fuel pump to my plane now Im installing a fuel presure gaudge in the panel, its electric, from Vans, only about 30$ with the proper range, anyway now to install the sending unit. Would either side of the two fuel lines from mechanical pump have the same presure? Or would a cross over line with the sending unit have to be included? Thanks for your advise in advance! Al!

  10. After building my trailer, and seeing the same problem, I mounted a siccors jake on the ramp and positioned it to lift just at the base of the tail spring, where its bolted to the plane. I stap it down then from an Eye bolt thru thu fuse. Same place as 1Avidflyers picture. Caught this before any issues.

  11. I like the pictures dholley posted! Simple but solid looking! Can I pirate that design? LOL!!
