I plan on holding off as long as possible or until I get in trouble for not having it . I can see installing it on a new build but for my plane now I don't see the reason to do so .

Is your sonerai going to be mid or low wing ? I dug my plans out for one and might start looking into building . I plan on changing the shape a little to look more like a extra 300 .

I know what could happen , I've been here over 30 years and am always prepared . I get a kick out of everyone rushing to the stores to stock up the night before , it makes black Friday look tame .

I have had multiple surgeries from flipping bmx bikes for about 20 years . There's been metal in my body for over 20 years now.None of it was really bad in the nasty cold up north . I had a car accident a couple years ago that got me a helicopter ride I don't remember . I ended up getting 2 big ole plates and about 30 screws all together in my arm . I was at my brothers in the Carolinas a couple weeks ago for that storm and wow I could feel the metal . I'll stick to the the Florida heat I'm not built for the cold.

Gotta love being on the water with a boat with no motor . My wife and I have kayaks with pop up sails in case there's any good wind . We go all around Weeki Wachee and love it . Every once in a while I can fish , she's still worried sharks will come if I do .

Seeing that kind of weather makes me glad I only have to worry about a hurricane every now and then . You guys have ground that moves ,big storms , snow the works . Once in a while my area will get a tropical storm or something but most of the time I'm pretty safe . The worst that I get in Florida are the cotton tops hahaa ! Be safe over there I can't imagine that kind of weather .

What's the right way to measure the wash out on my plane with it ready to fly ? Also what's going to change if I take some out ?

If I remember right we installed the throttle cable on the upper part of the lever to pull .

This is a common problem with that motor . I gotta look but I know we had to do something on the gyrocopters where I used to work so the throttle worked right . There was a fellow that installed a 912 on his gyrocopter with the set up backwards . He fired it up and it shot across the taxi way and flipped over the chain blocking off a restricted area. Needless to say that money was a waste. He now has a gyrocopter that needs tons of fixing .

Old post but I did my plane when I got it . Get a good strong bungee that is bought by the foot . There is a fellow with a YouTube channel showing how to do it the easy and correct way . It's actually really easy and I plan on doing it every couple years to stay safe .

I'm sure I can make a duct system to get good air flow . Even in the Florida heat my plane takes a while to get to operating temperature .

That's good for me . It's cheaper then the tiny tach . Do you have PayPal ?

It would be interesting to see what I'm actually running at . What's your price on the tach ?

Can I still run my radiators up front with the round cowl ? Just wondering what I'm in for when I go to change it out

It's a 2 stroke tach and set right . Idle it reads 1400 and the dash tach reads 2000 . It is like that all the way to full power. Thing is it's not sputtering like it should at 1400 rpm if it was that low.

I can't for the life of me get it to read right . Either that or my regular tach is way off on every spectrum .

Gas cap part numberI'm having a hell of a time finding a new gas cap for my plane . It's a federated automotive cap part number mgc-806 or 10806 . I have found the part numbers but they don't match what I have . Any help would be great as I'm pretty much grounded because of the stupid thing .

I'm interested but at the same time not really wanting to do the tach dance again . Tried a tiny tach and can't get it reading right .

chopndrag added a post in a topic VGs? Who has them and do you like them?
I'm also interested in vg's for my mk4 with speed wing (23'11.5") . I remember putting them on a Excalibur with clipped wing but don't recall the results . I wouldn't mind a little more speed . I'm at 95-100 mph indicated but like anyone I want more speed without braking the bank . Maybe vg's , wheel pants and that round cowl I could get a little more speed ?
