Shouldn't that be an aligator in your area instead of a bear! Would be interesting to see the video of that. Amazing the elevator doesn't looked damaged but I'm sure it is. Thats where they say you never know what happens to your plane while it is parked. Cheers Randy

Mark, glad to hear you are still pushing ahead! It's Great to have Avid up and running again! Has and will help many Flyers out when parts are needed in the future.

Just to add to that. I'm a few away too. Mine is 1199D and was delivered June 1992. That gives better idea of time frame/era of manual and serial numbers. I have all order and delivery papers confirming this. Cheers Randy

You have got to be kidding me! I watch for a Jabiru about every day. Just put alot of money into some other projects and now one comes up very close! This is basically in my backyard (about 1 hr away)
Vance if you are serious about it and the seller would not be interested in shipping. I would be willing to crate it up for you and ship. Cheers Randy

Anyone knw where to get the F7 bell crank to provide differential ailerons for the Avids?
John M
I just had a set of the F7a bellcranks made by Mark from the new Avid. He didn't send/make the shafts though. I keep wanting to reach out to him about it. Here is a pic. I would go to the website and send an email to him. Cheers Randy

John...Thanks for the posts. Its Great to hear some more success with the Jabs. I have a 582 sitting in the corner to use for my build but I would like to go with something different. The Jab is at the top of the list. So this is valuable info. Cheers Randy

See attached photos of the original stock fairings from Avid. I traced the fairing for a quick drawing hopefully it makes sense. Would be rather easy to make. Notice the parts list basically tells you the size depending on which fairing you are doing whether lift struts or landing gear. Mine are anywhere from 1"-2.5" longer from factory than what it shows on parts list ( I would assume to trim down to fit at roughly the dimensions listed on parts list) Hope this helps.....Cheers Randy

I could get some measurements for you off of mine if you wanted to make some.
Also I believe TJay had made a post of the ones he had made for his plane. Cheers Randy
