    Trying to be helpful
    I think automotive alternators have internal regulators and attendent overvoltage protection.

    Mine uses hose clamps to hold it to a thin, flat plate welded to the mount brace.

    Tried to upload some photos...no luck
     
    Mine is mounted on the right side of the FW outboard the right, upper engine mount brace. The top fitting on the left side (in your picture) goes to the overflow bottle. The next one down goes to the engine head (top rear). The left (in your picture) radiator hose goes to the right belly radiator tube. The right radiator hose (in your picture) goes to the engine thermostat.

    Its hard to break the Track Time (GMT) habit after working a few years for a railroad subsidiary...
    All of my systems, home & work, run on Zulu
    Besides, if I'm using GMT, I get the posts before most everyone else...

    I used some 3M automotive trim tape on my 98 Chev P/U last summer to secure some trim on the bed side. 
    Thorough cleaning and prep on body and trim. Proper outdoor temp. The trim began releasing within a week. I was NOT impressed.
