I am getting real antsy to get home and finnish my bird.. hopefully the weather sucks bad enough I wont be tempted to fly everyday..then I can check out the new starter.  hopefully it went through some design problems in the begining and they are now worked out... would piss me off if I went through what I did to actually get the damn thing then find out is it a total piece of shit...

there is occationally usefull info on that site...but mostly it is entertaining to see some of the questions that people ask.. and some answers that are given that were obviously pulled directly from their ass..

If you followed some of the posts in the last year, alot of the original builders have removed themselves from the list... I think they may have started another one ( i pulled that one out of my ass as I dont know for sure, just get that feeling).

oh well.. you are at an advantage as you have many years of working on planes.  Most of the posters now bought the planes allready flying and kow nothing about maintenance etc. but they want to argue about anything as they have some weird preconcieved idea about something and they just wont listen to reason.  :banghead:

    oh yeah.. you still suck

....when the boys argue about Kitfox vs RV's.., or.....whatever.

"I tell you what, we got two categories of pilots around here. You got your prime pilots, that get all the hot planes; and you got your pudknockers, who DREAM of gettin' the hot planes. Now, what are you two PUDKNOCKERS gonna have?"

    (Pancho Barnes..."The Right Stuff ")

My god, they sound like .... never mind.

    You get my point.

I have given up on ever finding USEFUL information on that site. And it is suppose to reflect the collective minds of the Kitfox community? Get real.

I can almost hear McBean groaning on a daily basis when he reads the postings.

    Post Script:

Maybe I should go to PC class with Leni  :hammerhead:..............., NOT !!!

    hahaha

Just a look at the scales I use and the empty weight of N84KF.

    762 lbs - 3 gal. usable fuel @ 6 lbsgal. (18 lbs) = 744 lbs Empty Weight.

Just so there is no confusion or presumptions, I know the usable fuel = 3 gals. because I had just drained all tanks and then added 3 gals for run up purposes.

BTW... how many time have you heard, or been told, you must use "certified"scales...or some b.s. like that?

Here is an excerpt from the FAA  Weight and Balance Handbook FAA-H-8083-1A, Page 3-1

"Mechanical scales should be protected when they are not

in use, and they must be periodically checked for accuracy

by measuring a known weight. Electronic scales normally

have a built-in calibration that allows them to be accurately

zeroed before any load is applied."

Once again, if someone points me in another (official FAA) direction (regarding scales) I will have learned something new and stand corrected.

your wrong, you dont know shit, and it is possible you still have a chip on your shoulder...

crap I forgot my training allready..... I will take another shot at it....

It is quite possible that you may be mistaken and that your theory (a Hypothesis if I may) may not hold much water in a real world.  It is possible that you will need to go back and re-test you engine and then post up a computer graph showing the exact number of revolutions needed for both hot and cold start.  While you are at it, please post up compression numbers for each cylinder that correspond to the hot and cold start cycles.... or you can tell me to get bent, it worked for you and if I dont beleive you then go try it my own damn self...

I can tell it is going to be a long struggle for me to suppress my natural style and show my adapted style so's you yahoos dont think I have a tree on my shoulder...

Anyone ever used the GPL 90 degree starter?  I am bought one but have not installed it yet... seems like everyone would be going to it.  the rotax starter is now around 700.00 to replace the GPL is only 500 plus you can have your recoil for back up...That was my #1 reason to try it as it would suck to be in a remote area, and have the battery go dead when you have a clutch on the prop...

I am really interested in hearing how she does with the new shinny clean valves... hopefully it did eliminate the hard starting problem.

The old me would say... bout time you got off your ass and figured the problem out.

The new me has to say.....I am sooooo glad you took time out of your busy schedule to figure out for the rest of the aviation comunity a problem that has been haunting some for a very long time.

Holy crap thats funny.. I have been in a "Learn how to be nice to your employees" class for the last 2 days...

With that being said I may now have to make a new sign....

Some thing along the lines of.... Real men fly bungie gear, but if you are comfortable with your prissy little spring gear I applaude you for knowing you dont have to make every landing a good one..
