I've got a spare Briggs and Stratton sitting here in the garage if you need it. It runs fine, but it's a bit hard to fire up in cold weather as I filled it with 90# gear oil when I ran out of regular oil last spring.

Really..., how's it going? Any progress?

well shite... YHesterday I pulled my engine to install the GPL starter... it wont fit.  I would have to move the engine mount and cowling forward about 4" for it to just bolt on, or cut he firewall and engine mounts and re-design the fuselage mounts.  I guess I will sell the GPL starter and take a raping for a new rotax starter....and hope to hell the battery never goes dead when I am out i nthe middle of nowhere... the price I think I am willing to pay for having the clutch on the prop...

anyone want a good deal on a new GPL starter :banghead:

I will have to ask my attorney...  Based on the amount of time you have spent on the site so far, and using the formula posted by "others" as of now my bill is probably up to 13,500.00  The good news is the check is in the mail... the bad news is... the banker will laugh in your face when you try to cash it

When I go to log-in my user name will pop up correct, but the password is not correct. I then just manually enter the correct one and I'm 'on'.

I thought it was something stored in my 'puter but was (am) just to lazy to look for the 'fix'.

Each time I have to do that it takes about 5 seconds, but over the course of a month it might add up to a whole lot of minutes.

What sort of compensation plan do you have to reimburse me for this time?  :bartmoon:

    Gentlemen,

Thank you for your (needed) support.

I will be replying to the issue  'over there' later this evening. I will be thanking Paul for his honest reply, and informing the others that, as of today, there is NO Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for changes to the existing text of the rule on the FAA Docket

    http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/rulemaking/recently_published/

That is the first step necessary and I personally do not expect it to happen... as it would change nothing.

The rule is fine like it is and the intention of the rule is to limit the inertia potential of the aircraft eligible for sportpilot use. That is dictated by their use of the "maximum take-off weight" rule and the formula that they decided would insure that said inertia remain low.

That "intention" is clearly written into the Rule. Only those who wish to ignore that valuable part of the written law are able to argue.  yada yada yada yada..............  :beerchug:

Thanks again.... I will keep it civil.

    :withstupid:

I dont want to start an us against them, but holy shit.... not only is it the blind leading the blind, the sun ofa guns want to tell each other neither one is blind even when they are tripping over each others canes.

Steve at least you can feel a bit vindicated by Pauls statement, and I must commend Paul for stepping up.  Takes a real man to admit when he was wrong, especially in that crowd.

I just cant see why someone who was a ditch digger or taxi driver all his life would want to argue the friggin FAA shit with someone who is a "proffesional" that deals with the regs every day?  Just to go one step further, I do beleive you had to pass a written test to show

    1 your competence and

    2 your powers of comprehension

I take these same tests but on a different subject matter, however, being able to interpret what you read is all that matters...

    ok off my  :soapbox:

WHOO HOO, the ticker on the closed circuit is saying the winds actually dropped to 26 gusting 38.. I may be getting my fat ass outa here today after all

they dont mind the wind... just not being able to see the damn runway..We have one hell of a flight crew that do a damn good job of flying in and out ofthe god forsaken frozen desert...  and the bunny huggers would have you think it was a pristine wilderness...

  15. 84KF

    Here's what ya do.....

Find the 737 flight crew and tell 'em...

"when landing in a cross wind you should have your up wind wing banked to the wind and use opposite rudder to keep the nose pointed straight down the runway.  If the wind in coming from the right side, you will be right wing low and left rudder."

    I read that someplace.....  ;D
