Looking good Russ.  Keep the photos coming.  I'm just getting started on the color coats, practicing on small parts because I'm using a different type of gun.

I don't want to be accused of passing bad info so I did a quick check that seems to support what I had heard.

Jack - IIRC, Canada originally agreed to allow handheld 406 PLBs for US registered aircraft overflying CA airspace for a 2-yr period while legislation language was finalized. Issue was whether a fixed panel mount activated automatically upon crash impact (rather than manually activated PLB) should be mandatory for all aircraft. I heard from a Canadian at OSH this year that the current draft legislation OK'ed handheld PLBs for US registered aircraft overflying CA airspace so unless changed it may be a go. I do not know if that is accurate, or if different for CA registered aircraft, but sure would be good if true.

    Leni,
Looks like SPOT has really expanded their coverage area.  Let us know how it works.

    Doug,
Do you know if Canada has decided to allow planes passing through to use hand-held ELTs?

Check out the handheld Fast Find 210 waterproof 406 MHz Personal Location Beacon (PLB) with GPS. It transmits two signals simultaneously, one to the subscription free global 406 MHz satellite system and the other to 121.5MHz.

not a big deal.. 6th surgery she has had this year.  I am thinking they should just have a suite set up for her as much money as we have spent in there in the last 4 or 5 yrs.  I am thinking I could pay off the national debt with what I have paid Drs and hospitals.  She will be fine, just something she gets to go through every 6 weeks or so.

Let me know when they show up, I would have thought they would be there today.  Hope one of them will work for you!

    Hey Leni,
I'd rather wait a month than to hear that your wife went to the hospital. I hope all is better now and I can wait for bungees.
    Best wishes,Bill

Dogs must have died! Tuesday and still no bungees. Maybe the border stopped the dogs, s'pose? I'd fly up to get them but I can't land, or yeah, I could put the floats back on. Maybe I better just wait.

with any piece of rescue equipt, there may be ways you can hide from the sky.  I think I will happily take my chances and hope that I dont go down in the .01% of the state that does not have full coverage.

In Memoriam - Ted Toth - A friend and fellow pilot.
Sadly, a good friend and fellow pilot lost his life 2 days ago while doing what
he loved best--flying. He was an accomplished pilot, CFI-II, ultralight
instructor and corporate jet pilot. He crashed into water 100 feet from shore
in his Rotax 582 powered Maxair Drifter float plane after losing power on
take-off at 60 feet agl. Luckily, his 17 year old daughter, who was aboard as a
passenger, survived the incident with minor injury. The accident occurred at
Lake Anna in Virginia. He was a talented, fun, family man and will be greatly
missed by his family and friends.
