Bandit, I see that we are almost neighbors as far as the internet goes, how far along are you on your plane or are you just making improvements?

I got my gauge mounted in my dash and wired up today. I ran out of time before I got the transducer put in the line though. Got in a 0.8 of Halloween flying before I took my cowling off. I used a 2" hole saw to cut the hole in my panel. The only issue I had is the piece that holds the gauge into the hole was designed for a something a bit thicker. Even with the screw in the back of the gauge tight the gauge was not tight in the hole. I wrapped some black tape around the gauge and tightened it back up and it worked great. I'm going to put my tiny tach I've had sitting here for a while in while I have the cowling off also. I have 14.1 on the hobbs now.

Stace's tanks are plastic. Not sure of the exact width but, my ribs are 17 3/4" center to center. It looks like the tanks will fit between them ok. They have two cone shaped nipples on bottom back of the tank. Here I will drill and tap each one. Then install a quick drain on one and the fuel outlet on the other. Between the tanks will be a bulk head fitting so each tank can drain into the other. Also each tank has its own filler neck. I will try to get pictures this weekend.

I have emailed Rocky Mt.Wings about their tanks, at that price I am Interested. Are they fiberglass or plastic? Resistant to alcohol? What is the width? I have seen that Just Aircraft uses the same spar sizes that Avid used and that they use an extrusion to strengthen their spar a few more parts and I will be making my own Avid inspired plane. After I get my A model in the air.

I didn't think the "static cling" stuff would work for my fox- it's marketed for RVs and such, that have plexi windows.
So... I just stuck it up there- lotsa bubbles ( it was over 100 degrees when I did this in the hangar, in my defense..)
2 years later, when I sold the plane, it was still there- bubbles and all. Bought mine at an autozone.

Just uploaded a bunch and worked no prob! I really like the ability to place your curser on the top right side of each image to advance to the next of multiple attachments rather than having to close each as was the case in the old software. Niiice!

^ now that is some very interesting news. I'm sure the Ridge Runner, at least the early models, have a nearly identical rib profile as the Avid HH. The Kitfox Models I-III are within a short and curly on the under camber side. I would love to see a HH rib held up against a RR rib or Stace's tank profile if'n you have any handy.

P.S. pics are the same I posted at the Ysite showing Avid HH vs. KF I-III comparison

Going to stick with the "C" box. The engine should not much, if any length.. a couple inches maybe. By eliminating the Electric Start, I can slide the engine closer to the firewall. With the EFI I have never had to pull more than twice even at -50 to start the 800 engine. I may end up adding the ES, but for now, I am planning on staying with recoil start. The way the engine was designed to "laydown" in the snowmachine chassis, the intake and exhaust is on the same side, with the exhaust crossing over the top of the engine. This is going to present some issues, but I am sure I can get it routed around under a larger cowl. Thats why they call it experimental

I'm sure it would be better to go with the lighter prop. With all that power the prop is sure going to get a workout. Is the engine much longer than the 582? The super cub cowl may be the easiest way to go when you try to stuff everything under it. Some pictures on the yahoo site on how one guy built a cub type cowl. Looks pretty good. Are you going to use a rotax box or some other kind?

OK, after a few drinks, some nut scratching and a few pissy emails, I think i figured out the pic posting issue... you guys try and post up some pics and see if it works for ya!

On another note, the supprot guys ran a script that seems to have fixed all the older attachments that were no showing as thumbnails after the conversion... Things are looking up here!

The Avatar being hosed was because the default was a tiny ass pic that I could not see. I bumped the size up and it will automatically re-size the avatar. When it blew up the little bitty one, they got fuzzy... Growing pains.

I will check the settings, as it seems that you are now having the issues with the pic upload that I was having on the old software... I will get this shit figured out or hire someone else who can....

$150 per tank. A whole bunch cheaper than anybody else. They are Stace's own molded tanks. I'll try to get pictures of them.
