I am working on it. I cant figure out what happened. It is fine for me on firefox, but not on Internet Explorer on the work computers. I ahve tried from 4 differnt computers at work and I get the same issues Ed is having. Hang in there guys, I am working on it. I just sent a request in to the peeps at Invision and at Siteground to see who I gotta pay to get the damn place back running right. I am too stupid and busy tha tlast few days to really dig into it.

This whole sit has changed. PC and laptop both fighting me. This really sucks.
Have enjoyed talking with everyone on here - but wont fight battles to get 2c in.
Going to hibernate all winter and hope for better site in spring - or whenever.

Actually I have a friend with a Mark IV heavy hauler with an 80 hp Jabiru. Other than the continuing issued with keeping the CHTs down, it is a fine running motor that does a reasonable job (equatable to a 582) for that plane.
There is currently a speedwing, 582 powered IV in another buddies hangar to which he (CFI) is giving dual to the owner of the plane for checkout. This plane, with wing extensions, is almost unflyable. It barely climbs (300-400 fpm in cool fall weather!) with two on board with minimal fuel. So, taking that plane and putting the lower thrust Jab motor on it would be horrible.
One man's opinion.

The way this site acts now really sucks! Any way you can get it back to what it used to be?
I hate the way it acts now! Lots harder to read and cant get anything but blank pages when trying to read PMs and posts and answers to PMs. REALLY SUCKS !!!!!!!!! NORTON WONT LET ME GET ON MY LAPTOP WITHOUT INTERFERRING. KASPERSKY on here is OK with it tho.

Far be it for me to act like an expert on this subject, except that I am sure that you will find most of the posts by the owners/pilots/builders of the Avids to be negative on this engine.
The Jab without redrive requires a very short prop - therefore, you lose the ability for short takeoffs.
#2. There have been bad reports on the Jab engine, concerning valve problems.
Other than that, I have no helpful info.

New Questions- how does the fabric attach around the front jury strut attach bracket? both of my manuals seemed to forget this one. next is what all needs glued on the fuel tank? around the fill hole, any where else? I thought maybe continuing glue up the rib tails behind the tank up over the tank where the ribs would be if there wasn't a tank installed? since I have the new flush fill caps I was thinking of just covering over the caps then cutting around them once the fabric is shrunk, good idea bad idea? last question for now- my build manual says not to glue the top cap strips until after the fabric is shrunk is this still the best way to do it or should I glue before fabric just like the bottom?

Veterans DayOnce again it is the time of year to Thank all of our veterans.
Each year on November 11th, we honor the courage and sacrifices of our nations veterans. While this simple letter may express my humble appreciation of the service they have given to this great nation of ours, it can never completely convey the extent of the sacrifices they have made. While we sit comfortably in our homes and workplaces enjoying the everyday comforts of home and the most modern civilization in history, they have and are enduring horrors and atrocities that we can only imagine. These sacrifices they make everyday and have made since the founding of these great United States of America are what grants us the right to enjoy the comforts and conveniences we take for granted every waking minute of every day. Recently, we enjoyed the right to elect our state and national leaders. That right and many, many others don't come free! Our nations veterans whether past or current members of the United States Armed Forces, paid for that right, for us! Some paid the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy these freedoms and rights. So, as you go through the day today, take a moment to reflect on the things that you enjoy, the things that you take for granted, the things you think you are entitled to, the great job you have, your right to enjoy a safe work environment, your family and friends, your cars and trucks, your 4 wheelers and hunting rifles, your boats and fishing poles, your fancy new iPad, whatever it is that you enjoy. Then take the time to share your appreciation and gratitude to a veteran, because he or she paid for it all, with their time away from loved ones, their blood, and in many cases with their very lives. If not for their sacrifices, you may not have had the RIGHT to enjoy any of it!
