Auxillary Tanks

Well I just finished fabricating the wing mounts for my auxillary tanks and flew with them (empty) to see what it flew like.  It seems to have no effect on the cruise speed or fuel burn which is a pleasant surprise.  Still have to rig up the plumbing now, will pump to one wing tank when needed.  This will give me 38 gal on board and should have at least 36 gal or more useable.  My hunting partner and I plan to hunt on the north slope next year and he bought a belly tank for his cub.  This will get me a lot closer to his range but will still need to pack some bags.

Ed, kind of looks like they would work double duty as a gun ...err... gun boot mount don't you think?

Looks great Randy! Are you going to make them so that you can pump while in flight or will they just be storage where you can hand crank the fuel out of them into the mains while parked? The RC guys have some really nice hand cranks these days for the big gassers.
