Some great press for Gyrocopters and the 914. I love seeing this type of stuff make the news. Being an ultralight/flex wing guy, nothing spools me up faster than when I'm at a gas station with my PPC on the trailer and the first thing out of a random non flyers mouth is "Aren't those things dangerous?" Their total perception of the sport was formed from some idiot who made the evening news by flying into a crowd of people somewhere.

 

I wonder how many hours in the seat he logged in the 72 hrs that it took to do this feat. I know the modern Gyros have came a long ways but I'm sure those blades beating the air do not provide as nice of flight as a fixed wing would not to mention he's basically in an open cockpit.
