Travis AFB launches a 22 ship of Heavies

They called it the Freedom Launch to commemorate 9/11. It was the largest display of Airpower at the base since the 50's.

10 KC-10's
5 C-5's

All in airborne in 36 minutes...Why you ask...Because we can! Merica!!    For those that don't know me this is what I normally do for a living. The C-5 guys were all dudes i work with. Too bad I'm stuck in the sandbox and had to watch it on the internet. Must of been a glorious site coming down the taxiway.

Awesome! Been in awe of the flyers since I was 2 years old and a formation of low-flying WASPs scared me with their big radial engines roaring overhead just west of Blytheville, Arkansas, in the flat cottonlands of Southeast Missouri.

Always have a salute for the Flyers!
