Fish Chasing

Ended up flying down the west side of the Inlet twice last weekend looking for fish.  Couldn't catch one on Sat. so took my son-in-law with me on Sunday afternoon since he is a better fisherman; we still got skunked.  Fish were there but we didn't have their secret formula.

 

On Sat I flew to Swentna on the way back and got to enjoy the Skwentna BBG ribs since the fly-in day two of the weekend before got rained out, they did it last weekend.  I spotted a neat landing strip on a high ridge SW of Beluga Lake; it was still half covered with snow so I didn't land it but will have to do that just to get a picture.

 

On Sunday we made a late afternoon trip and had to chase a few Supercubs off when we got there.      Even if I can't catch a fish it is just neat to be out there watching the eagles and beavers around us and spotting a few moose and bears from the air.  Heading for home about 11:00, we got to see a beautiful sunset on the Alaska Range; sure let's you know it's God's country.  The pictures don't really do it justice but hope they show some of it.

Awesome pictures Randy! I love seeing this stuff, especially when I am sitting in the sandbox looking at nothing but blowing sand. This place is terrible for scenery. It's not very often that I dread going outside.
