  1. I used a (black) double sided sticky foam tape, About a 1 mm thick. Apply it first to the horizontal instrument panel, position the windscreen correctly and pull off the protective (second side) file from between the screen and tape.

    That you for that tip.

  2. A good idea is to add a"u" shaped plastic moulding to the bottom of the windscreen,it saves wet feet or worse still, water in the electrics

    Thank you for that tip.

  3. I have to ask about the car - Studebaker or Henry J?  Been a long time since I had one...Check out TJay's question above - didn't want to interrupt.  EDMO

    1953 Studebaker Commander Coupe.

  4. Are you are having troubles pulling it up tight against the glare shield with out deforming the wind shield Or making it not fit the fiberglass cowl?

I am having trouble figuring out the proper way to attach the 'shield to the horizontal metal piece with the holes in it. After that is done, I'll attach the top areas. I think.

  5. You'll never be beaten for asking questions.

Maybe a photo of the situation would help, though.

I was kinda afraid it would come to me having to learn how to post pictures.:mellow:I'll try to do it, though.

  6. Don't beat me to death. I bought the plane sight unseen. When I took the cowl off, I found the windshield to be entirely unattached from the metal piece with all the holes in it at the bottom of the um, glareshield. I've downloaded the build manual from this site, but can not find instructions for the windsield attach. Any help?

  7. Well, I found the battery and am mollified it's in the tailcone to mitigate some of the Soob's weight.

The more I pore ever the plane the more I like it and the fact that I can change/modify things more easily than the Cessna.

I lurked some to begin with, and I value the knowledge and helpful demeaners here.

And much thanx to akflyer for getting me hooked up.

  8. Plane has N number; looking through four inches of paper work to sort out unfamiliar terminologies.

Plane still on a trailer the way it arrived. Was told it flew six weeks ago. Hmmmm. Log book looks like it was active until 2013.

Just sold a C-172 I had for 19 years. Cancer. Treatable; cureable; we'll see. Don't have the patience or time to fight FAA next medical.

I have a year to go on a good class 3 but when/If I were to go again, I'd get slammed, so on to the drover's license and a lighter rig. :french11:

Computers are so arcane to my neandrathal mind, pictures are a future dream, but I'll try. Rather weld mufflers on my Studebakers upside down.

Stopped in Casper for fuel in 2000 on way back from OSH in the Cessna.

    Thanks for responding.

  9. model serial #378 and I need the original build plans, paperwork etc. that didn't come with the plane.

If anybody can help with this, I'd appreciate. TIA

I plan to be a fairly regular poster, but I need to become more familiar with this bird before I can talk much about it.

    It has a Subaru engine.
