  1. Wow, that would be real nice if it's so.  I'll have to go back and rewatch the video to have a look.  I will call Ed and let him know if it is him.  Sure enough, it's there right between Aircraft Exhaust and Airframes Alaska.   Good catch to see it.   JImChuk

Give him our best.  I stopped by his house 6? years ago when I started my Kitfox rebuild.  What a great guy!

  2. I was just watching Mike Patsy’s new video on the scrappy build and he’s putting the names of people and organizations on scrappy.  At 17:22 it appears that he had EDMO painted on the fuselage.

  3. For polyester I would wax the cowl with Johnson's paste floor wax three coats dried and buffed between coats and then 3 coats of PVA.  Good luck with your project.

I’ve made many molds and castings using these two releases.  When you spray on the PVA, mist on the first coat and the successive coats should be light.   If it beads up, you sprayed too much.  Wash it off with water, let it dry and spray again.

  4. I used an oil base sculpting clay to build up the clearance on my cowling. It can be shaped and smoothed out to the exact shape desired. Lay one layer of glass over the the clay and lapped over onto the cowling about an 1", let cure, remove and completely clean the clay from the back side, lightly sand and apply two layers of glass on the back side and lap onto the existing cowling about an inch.

  5. Kale76, what model is that (IV?).  Looks great!

Yes. It's a IV.  Don't get to work on it much during the summer.  Hope to finish this winter.

  6. I used polyester building reproduction trees, rocks , Etc. for museums and after using epoxy on my Kitfox, I found epoxy is much stronger per pound than polyester and it will eat blue foam.

  7. I loaded the 2015 app and even though it's titled "2015", it has the 2016 schedule.  Used it the last couple of years and it's a definite asset.
