The "Builders Manual Part 3" online in the forum has a drawing for the front fork and mains on page 5.

The cover is a "stock" "lightweight" (5 lbs) cover from Bruce's Covers for the Avid.

I need the nose gear because the one on the Avid was bent while towing it through some grass that had a deep rut from a mower.

Perhaps the picture didn't come through on the post.  I may need to replace the nose gear on the Avid - the gear worked fine and I would like to replace it with the same gear if either one is available someplace or someone has the original plans to build one from

    Only 7 degrees of flaps?
I noticed that the Avid Flyer Mark IV Speedwing I recently purchased only has 7 degrees of flap movement.

Everything I've read so far indicates that the plane should have 15 degrees of flap movement.

    Anyone know anything about this?

Guess I'm OK on the towing part.  Up to 10,000 lb GVWR for the trailer with a Class A License.  The trailer is 10,000 lb GVWR.

Well, No and No - but close

The trailer was used as a "support" trailer for Miss B. Haven (tool boxes, spares, perhaps a car or truck) no airplane.  All the internal structure I added.  As you're aware, the Avid sits on it's tail when the wings are folded - so I have a tail wheel I add when the wings are folded and I have it in the trailer.  This trailer is "over kill" for a light airplane - it was meant to haul heavy things like automobiles.  I may get pulled over for towing something beyond what my license allows.

I found a used trailer and with the help of a neighbor who's a rancher / farmer cut out the sides of the door opening, installed a wench to raise and lower the door, etc.  So far so good.  Installing another vent, some inside roof insulation, and areas for gas cans this week.

My immediate thought was that they allowed the GPS to fly the airplane sense the  ILS wasn't working.  Seems the threshold had been moved 1,000 ft farther down the runway.  Putting in a number 1,000 ft in the "wrong" direction should just about cause what happened.

    Need folded wing struts
I need some struts for the wing when it's folded.  Does anyone have a drawing for these that they could email me?

Rudder peddle pressure and nose gear from the right seat
Flying right seat brings out a couple of problems with the rudder forces, left peddle to nose gear linkage, and nose gear centering springs.  The rudder pressure through the peddles seems excessive and seems to center around the springs for centering the nose gear – which are “very stiffâ€.   Any thoughts or cures to this problem?  Left seat has the problem also, but it’s not as noticeable since the nose gear linkage doesn’t encroach on the rudder peddles – giving more space on the peddles for your feet.

    Russ,
You have just what I need.  The search continues to find something out here on the Left Coast.

I'm in California and so far have only been able to come up with manufacturers in Indiana, Idaho, and Georgia.

Enclosed trailer for Mark IV Speedwing
I'm looking for an Enclosed Trailer for my Mark IV Speedwing.

I plan to trailer it long distances to fly out of various airstrips around the West.

The minimum folded width is 7 ft. 10 in.  I've already discoverd that the 8 1/2 ft wide trailers which have an 8 ft wide interior have a rear door opening that's less than 7 ft. 10 in.

Any information here would be helpful.
