Just talked to another Rotax repair station and he said he has done it before with no problems. 

Brett at Leading Edge Airfoils said you don't get the right heat range if you do that

Can you use a helicoil repair kit to replace a stripped plug in a cylinder head? I should have explained it is on my 503 rotax.

Does anyone have a 503 dual ignition cylinder head for sale?

I replaced my old tiny tach with a new one, but it reads twice the rpm on my 503. Not sure why.

I have a Dewalt electric coat and love it. It has elements in the sleeves, collar, chest and back. I use it all fall and spring Turkey hunting.  It uses 20v batteries. 

I used the same 3M glue. It came with my kit in 1994. Still good. I used some last summer. 

Yes the fan shroud will hit on the bump out. You might be able to cut out part of the bump out to make it work though. I didn't think the extra inch or two was worth messing with so I went with the flat firewall. 

If you use the 503 you have to use a flat firewall so you will lose some legroom with that installation. 

The 503 is a plug and play engine.  It's a pretty easy installation. 

I will take pictures of my installation this weekend and post them. I hope that will help you. This has worked good for me.

I have have been running my 503 for 24 years now.  Dual carb, dual ignition. I switched to mixed gas. The oil injection was a pain in the ass. Burning 5 gallons a hour at 5950 rpm. Cruises 69 mph. As light as you are it should do pretty good if your airplane is light. My Bandit started at 456lbs, but now is around 485 or so. I am using a 3 blade ground adjustable 66" ivo prop. I am thinking the 582 is the same mount as the 503. Does anybody else know for sure?

Had my own  little " Fun Fly Zone " tonight.

After 24 years my Bandit needed a whole lot of TLC. After 6 days of work everything is good. You would never guess it was that old. The weather has been perfect this week.  Put 4 hrs on it since Sunday. 

I touched up the belly fabric. Sprayed the tapes with 3 coats of poly spray with wet sanding between, then a couple coats of poly tone. The 20 some year old paint worked good. A A&P told me to sand and prime the tubes with this automotive aerosol etching primer paint. The poly tone worked good with it.

Ya I just ordered some thinner and poly tak. She said it would be around $30 shipping. YIKES! How does ups charge $130 for a 4'x4' sheet of polycarbonate in a roll?

I covered a square frame with polyfiber and went through the painting steps and it looks like my 20 some year old paint is going to work.

I was going to order 2 4'x4' sheets of lexan from Aircart Spruce until I saw the shipping price. If I understood it the lexan is around $80 and shipping $160 ! What the hell! Any other options?

Is there a aerosol metal primer that is compatible with Polyfiber? I would like to touch up a few spots on the airframe.

I still have a bunch of poly fiber paint that is 24 years old. I stirred the poly tone and it seemed ok. Do you think it is still good? I would like to touch up a few places on my Bandit.

What is the best way to touch up the belly fabric tapes? It is Poly fiber finished with poly tone paint.
