  1. Thanks Chris. My electrical knowledge on something like this is limited. Just had to ask the community. With points becoming a rarity, I would assume the term “dampening box “ has not been part of the vocabulary any longer.

  2. I have a Rotax 532 that had the contact breaker ignition unit replaced with an electronic ignition system. In the repair manual from Rotax for this engine, the wiring diagram shows a damping box for the contact breaker system and not for the electronic system. I understand the function of this damping box, however, why is it not shown or needed on the electronic ignition system?

     Thanks for any insight!

  3. Thanks ChrisBolkan. Do people separately put a cb on the main battery cable (6awg)? On my old boat, there is a 60a cb within a foot of the battery before it continues downstream. Amazon has a marine type available (pictured).

  4. I am installing a electric start on a Rotax 532 (Avid).  What type of CB (fuse) are people using between the battery and starter button? Thanks!

  5. Thanks TJay. I thought I had all my bases covered before posting this. Looking on the LEAF website, they have what appears to be what I need. The picture and description doesn’t show the thickness, so I’ll have call or drop them an email. As a backup, I’ll be checking out Challenger parts. Thanks for responding. First post for me. I’m sure there’s going to be more!
