  1. Yes, that amphib was my first home built. It was interesting to see the article again. I had lost my copy of the article years ago. The picture was taken on Beluga Lake near where Coal Creek empties into the lake.

  2. Jeff - the two seat cushions are in my garage gathering dust so you are welcome to them. I don't have the seatbelts or even remember what happened to them.

  3. I am the builder and original owner of this plane and the one who made the last inglorious flight at Lake Hood. When I sold the parts I de-registered the plane with the FAA and the N number, N116CH, is now on my Searey at Merrill. That will make some difference as you go through the maze with the FAA. It looks like the guy I sold the parts to never did any paperwork with the FAA so I am still the last owner on the FAA records. If you need anything from me to help out on the paperwork just let me know. Randy knows how to get in touch with me or me contact info is on the Anchorage EAA Chapter 42 website.

  4. I just heard of this site from a fellow EEAer and registered today. I am the original owner and builder of the Avid Amphib, N84CH. It was my first homebuilt project and have since done 3 more. It's sad to see how it went downhill from when I sold it as a flying aircraft but I'm glad it's getting TLC and a rebuild from it's new owner. I spent a lot time with that plane fishing in the Mat-Su valley and Talkeetna Mtns. I just looked and found the original construction photos in my garage.
