How does one post pictures without creating a third party account? I tried finding the answer with search to no avail.

Not long ago I had two daughters living in Tacoma, one of which recently purchased a hobby farm north of Omak, where her husband is from. Unfortunately Uncle Sam has her flying out of South Carolina for a while. Other than that (and my old Dodge isn't allowed out in the winter salt) the road trip would sound good.

Yes Ed, the acetic acid is is what smells like vinegar, and that is the stuff to avoid.
    Hope you bounce back quickly!

Actually, that was the point. They said any applications of silicone ( and backed it up with pictures) would result in rust.

Many seem to not have troubles, but I've seen it addressed in aviation circles and in an auto glass installation training session as well. Nothing conclusive in personal experience but I've used the noncorrosive for any aviation applications.

Looks nice. For those that don't know, most silicone caulk/sealant has acetic acid that is known to foster rust/corrosion issues, Auto parts stores carry some that is not corrosive.

Looks nice. Can you put higher pressure or turn up the springs in the shocks? Looks way light to me, perhaps you just have it that way for testing while building? Wouldn't want it bottoming out.

From looking in my wings when I first got my airplane, I believe I must have the 5 foot Just/KitFox style inserts in my .083" spars.

Ditto on all the positive changes above, huge improvement in my Mk IV on my 1000' strip with obstacles! Still need more practice and experimentation on the shedding altitude after 50' trees without splat.

My flapperon hinges were a bit stiff when I first purchased the airplane, but with generous application of mobile one at the hinges they freed up nicely.

    Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear about your binding - maddening after so much work. I have Avid Mk IV #1602D, produced by Avid in 1992 iirc with 18" extended fuselage, no mention noted in the paperwork of the extended wings. HH wings, each being 1' longer for a wing span of close to 32'. The struts look to be nearly 92". I have seven flaperon hinges, at 2' spacing, on each side. No noticeable flexing of the wings and half of my limited time since purchasing it this spring has been in gusty (to 28K by local AWOS) or thermally conditions. Flaperons stop about one foot short of wingtip attaching point. No binding. Jabiru with RV6A nose gear (just purchased Grove taildragger gear for the future).
Pasco...I had my Avid there in April...on trailer enroute to Minnesota after purchasing in Oregon.
Beautiful airplane, wishing you well in getting it flying right,

    Hello Larry,
Sounds like a bad day may have involved - sorry to hear if that's the case. I'm interested in the Grove gear and a 1 1/2 " tail spring. What's the best way to contact you? My phone is 2one8 3nine1 1844.

For longer life from gas springs, install with rod end down, this helps keep the seals in better condition with less leakage.

Could very well be. While in the shop today I checked my can (several years old) which is for PVC and CPVC. It had four ingredients, first was MEK, last was acetone. With MEK concerns in recent years, perhaps they've done away with that part.
Yes Ed, the primer/cleaner is to help the glue work better - and it definitely does.

I can't remember why it may be important in some situations to have the "english proficient" on there. Perhaps when flying to Canada??? (Like the important and never asked for radio operator licenses for pilot and airplane.) In any event it meant sending for a new certificate @ $2 when it first became so important.

Looking like I'll be there all week, camping Relleumtdats. I'm already booked for Monday and Tuesday nights. Just too much fun to be had, can't squeeze it all in!

My single certificate says Commercial Pilot on the front. Back side under ratings it says:
    Commercial pilot
Airplane Single Engine Land; Instrument Airplane
    Limitations
    English Proficient
Sport Endorsement(s) Weight Shift Control Land.

And it has two pictures of me, one with long hair and a mustache, the other without much hair.

Yes. Just getting the private certificate will satisfy the flight review requirements as well. Or adding a rating.

I got a couple hours in with the instructor on Saturday. it was a very gusty day, my first hour I didn't do so well. The second hour I was doing much better and doing better on the landings than I expected to.
Need to burn a bunch of gas solo now.
