I think I am going to bite the bullet and get a new prop, the one I have is the older style with allen screws holding the adjuster tangs on the blades and one of them is worn out. Mike

Best prop for a 532/582 with an A/B gearbox
I think I am going to have to buy a new prop for my little Kitfox. It has a 532 on it now with an A gearbox. I have a new 582 greyhead I will eventually put on it which has a B gearbox. I think I am more into smooth operation over performance so I am thinking three blades. I would like something that will work on both. What is the best diameter to run? So let the suggestions fly I am all ears. By the way I can not use an IFA prop because I fly light sport. Mike

I fly as a sport pilot because of my medical issues, so I can not use the IFA hub. No problem Joey I am beginning to realize this prop is real old and needs to retire so I think I will put it on Fleabay as parts. So I guess I am in the market for a new prop. Mike

WTT Ivo ultralight inflight adjustable hub for std hub
I want to put the Ivo prop back on my Kitfox because it is so much lighter than the Warp Drive. Any way before I order a new one from Ivo anyone out there want to trade? Mike

532 with Bing 54's. I got one from Spruce and I can not adjust it to open the carb all the way. I actually would like to modify it to work. Mike

Throttle cable supplier or make my own
My mag side throttle cable has seen better days, way better days. Does anyone make these or should I get a motorcycle cable building kit? Mike

I had a 97A in my Arrow, used mostly as a backup but was a great little radio. I think the AT50A is pretty much obsolete but does have some value. Mike

  17. ppilotmike added a post in a topic Bing 54 ?

Answered my own dumb question. I forgot that I have two new bing 54's for the 582 so I disassembled one of them. The clips are normally split. Lots of wear must be the culprit on both pieces. The crumby part is I only want to use this engine for a couple hours and at the rate I am moving maybe not at all before converting to the 582. Mike

    Another dumb question
What is the service ceiling of a model 1 powered by a 582? I would think it would be fairly low considering there is no mixture control. So how high have you flown yours, starting from 1,000 ft field elevation or less? Mike

    Bing 54 ?
Are the clips suppose to be split like this or do I have two broken ones? The needles on both of my carbs are super sloppy fits in the clips even with the o-rings. I do not see any appreciable wear on the needle grooves. Mike

Yes I did notice the Dale Earnhardt theme. He was a very interesting fella to chat with. His story of the demise of his Jab was quite interesting! He has also given up on the floats as they would make the Fox to heavy. Thanks for posting his name I didn't catch it Saturday. Mike

I saw two Kitfox's at the Midland pancake breakfast yesterday, neither owner was a computer kinda guy. One was a model 4 with a radial engine, nice guy that sounded like he had been flying for a long time. I would guess he was in his late 70'sand was from Grass Lake. The second guy had a just completed model 3 with a 912US, still flying off his 40 hrs and  said he flew from his own strip about 8 miles north east of Midland, 40ish. I watched both guys depart and the Rotax out preformed the radial, at least in the takeoff phase. The radial sounded cool but looked very heavy. I noticed that his Battery was all the way back at the tail. Mike

Thanks for posting this. What a great video which captures the wrong control inputs for the situation. We all make mistakes, me I seem to make more than my share. I am going to donate what I can to help Tom get back in the air, glad he was unhurt. Mike
