About Me

My wife and I purchased the AVID model C nearly 25 years ago. I'm 6'1" and I never did fit in the cockpit very well (still don't). When we moved here to Colorado Springs, it became immediately evident that the 582 Rotax would never lift me, much less two people, off the 6,500 msl runway. So, I unloaded the new prop, Rotax & engine mount. I tarped the kit after building most of it and just recently bought a Subara NSI Turbo-chgd engine with an electric Warp Drive prop. I know I'll need to extend the fuselage, but well worth it up here! I also bought the wing extension kit. which I am underway on now. My Avid is not covered & painted yet.
