I would agree with Jim! All the Avids(5), Sky raiders1&2s, Kit foxes, I used s/s staples on under side of rib only!
34 yr old A model Avid, 3638 hrs, rebuilt ounce, never had one fabric lift!!!

Does anybody here know someone who has put a Ridge runner II on floats? This thing is basically a single place plane. Has a 503 and is pretty light. Seems like it would be a fantastic candidate for floats. Can anyone point me to someone who has done this? I am going on vacation and can read but not reply from my laptop so it might be a week before I can answer this post, but I will be reading :-)
Thanks!
Chris
forgot to mention, I put a Skyraider what I would call at one and a half on floats if you’re interested

This is a great idea that most people miss, I had a starter solenoid lock in engage and on way to disengage, burned off the starter!

Hi, used to be in the garage door trade, and I see in one of your pictures a garage door with extension springs, I can’t tell but those springs should have a cable from the wall to the hanger at the rear of the tracks to restrain a spring if it breaks

I used the search bar and didn't really find what i was looking for. I would assume many have figured out how to get a 6' 240lb person in a MK4. If anyone can help i may try to customize my plane to fit me. I know some say buy the correct plane but i can not afford 70k. I don't mind sticking $$$ in my avid as long as i don't get crazy upside down in is value. I want a light"ish" plane for local bouncing. My beginning in ultralights proved to me light weigh is the right weight. I posted it for sale so i could look for a bigger guy airframe, but i fear life may intervene and i may never reach the airport again. I do like a project and have a small but well equipped

set the aluminum seat pan on the longeram, I've had a six foot six, 325lbs in my Avid , it was a snug fit

Locating shoulder will be great, seaplanes benefit greatly with the use of the clutch, remember, we don’t have any brakes,When the engine starts ,where in motion!!!
