maybe something like this? Looks pretty cost effective

Hi Fellas. Was informed today by the DPE that will be performing my checkride that my plane must be equipped with an attitude indicator and heading indicator in order to perform all of the manouvers needed for my private pilot checkride. I am wondering what the most cost effective way of equipping the panel would be. I see some MGL products at a decent pricepoint but wonder what else is out there and who has had luck with what. Im attaching a picture of my panel. Im planning on putting the attitude indicator where the tach is currently (and putting on a tinytach instead) and heading in place of the compass. I think Id prefer to upsize the holes as well so all 6 gauges match

I have a brand new engine mount rubber kit I bot from Kitfox. This includes the new, updated bushing length per the SB.
fantastic!
McFarlane cables for the throttle and choke - best there is bar none! If you can do it, get the verier version, I wish I did...
Ok, is it the same cable setup for throttle and choke? Just vernier for throttle and regular for choke? Seems expensive for a choke cable but throttle would be worth it
Also got a rebuild kit from Matco to rebuild my calipers, and the kit that ads a second caliper to each wheel.

Its stewarts ekopoly, pain in the butt to work with.
Plane is home now and reassembly commences today. Starting with the main gear and realized the brakes I took off look like junk. Anyone upgrade to dual calipers on their model iii? Im curious how much was entailed and the price. Luckilly just nabbed a brand new set of matco mc-1 masters off of ebay for cheap
edit: couple other questions.
1.) where would one purchase a new set of the rubber engine isolator thingys for the engine mount?
2.) I believe the old throttle system is outdated? Any suggestions on the best throttle setup on a model iii with a 912?

Ok, so I turned on the master and then one by one all of my accessories. The needle went down a tiny bit for everything I turned on, so I guess its working. Guess Ill start up the plane this week and see if I can get the needle to move up with some RPMs. I started this plane for the first time a few days ago and noticed the needle didnt move but maybe my accessories were sucking up as much as the little generator puts out at relatively low rpm.
Turn off all accessories before you start the engine - the ammeter should move to positive as soon as engine starts, then as soon as the battery catches up on charging it should move back to about neutral or a little above. EDMO
ahhhh, so it only will show charging if the battery is a bit low? It has been on a tender all along so Maybe its fully charged and not charging then

Hmmm, cant seem to find a schematic, I know Ive seen one somewhere. Guess ill crawl behind the panel and have a looksie. Hoping its a gauge issue and not a generator issue!

Ok, so my electrical skills are probably my achilles heel of wrenching on planes. Have a 912ULS in the plane, runs great, but I have no reading on my amperage gauge when its running, or ever for that matter. Needle does not move. All the connections on the rear of the gauge are made and it lights up with the panes. What readings should it be showing when running or not running with the master on?

thanks guys, Just gotta wrap up this paint job and get her home to start final assembly. Paint has taken wayyyyy longer than I would have ever guessed. Thank goodness a friend from the local EAA has been helping me or it would have never gotten done

Little update, hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I havent accomplished anything in the plane in the last month or more, but hoping to get back to it this month. The goal is to have everything painted and home by march. Progress on the airport continues though, got the solar system up and running to power the property and also got a couple concrete pads poured as well. Bought a bigger mower Im fixing up since Ill be looking at 10+ acres of mowing once the strip is seeded and growing and hoping to buy a 30' wide roller at a farm auction tomorrow if Im lucky. Excited to get to the point where Im mowing and flying!!

Is this the one in NY?

I liked the fences on the STI wing and am fabbing up a set for my model 3 rebuild to replace the crack prone (and HEAVY) droop tips. Ill have to weigh them and get the difference, Im sure that savings alone will make up for any performance loss from eliminating the droops.

I used an Ivo, warp, and kiev on my mkiv last year. All very close in length and set to same static rpm. Kiev was by far and away the best, then warp, then Ivo in a distant third. Ran smooth but took noticeably longer to get the tail up and get off the ground, I HATED it after running the Kiev

Roughly 1,300 by 100. Plenty for a kitfox fly-in

You are one lucky man! Good luck with the field and the finish build!
well Im one excited man, thats for sure. Barely flown at all this year but hoping that sacrifice pays dividends next year, I plan on flying every day!
Dozer work is done, just needs a final drag and roll with the cultipacker. Prepping the forms for a concrete slab in the shop now, and installing a solar system as well to power the whole airport
