  1. Excited to get started on the exhaust is no back pressure best on gas engines so thinking 1.5 in. a

    And engine mount thickness ?

  2. First start up.  It fired right up.... after I opened the fuel valve.

Did you make the airbox? Did you get a fwf weight? What thickness did you use one the engine mount? I am just getting started. Looks good.

  3. When I pulled of the 582 it weighed 102 engine mount muffler starter ready to run no box or prop the c box weighed 17.5

  4. Here is a photo of a 912 water pipe - guess I could get the numbers from it if anyone needs it.  The Flaperon weights are for Model 4 and later, but could be shortened to fit early Kitfox and Avid models.  I have some voltage regulators or something for late Kitfox (912?) not pictured - need to identify.

I am hoping that someone can identify the two aluminum parts shown - guessing they may be for a 912?  ???  Does anyone need them? - Joey?

Might as well include the Cessna and Kitfox pedal and torque tube photos I posted for Jared - and I have more.

I've got lots of spares, such as round header tanks, the original Kitfox plastic nose tank, a 12 gallon wing tank, and 6" wheels, brakes, tires, tubes, gauges, wrecked Kitfox 3 fuselage and tail, Good set of wings with tanks, tips and flaperons, Raven Kitfox 1 copy fuselage and tail parts,  Just PM me for your Wants, or bring truck, cash and a decent offer for everything.  ;<)  EDMO

I ended up making some Cessna style peddles, thank you though. I would like to still buy one set of master cylinders though.

  6. Guess we will see what happens tomorrow. I am waking up at 4:30 to catch the boat to meet this guy, if the sale goes through I will drive down to Oregon 6 hrs  and get a sled then double back north to my bros house hopefully by 2am take a nap , go to Costco and other chores then  catch the 4:30pm boat home, that is the dream.:( Thanks for the help.:BC:

  7. I do not want to spend $2000 on this motor, not sure what to do. I am still going to meet with his wrench, who could be his brother for all I know. Feel like throwing up at losing this sale.:( And the Yamaha deal.

  8. Looking in my manual, it says the pin goes into the pulse hose nipple.  One way I can see how you could damage the crankshaft without using the pin would be if you held the opposite end of the crank from turning, and then torqued on  the bolt holding the piece on the tapered end of the crankshaft.  The crank is actually made from a bunch of pieces pressed together.  So then you could twist the crank.  If you are just keeping the crank from turning by holding the flywheel from turning, then I would say you are not likely to twist the crank.  If I remember right, I put two bolts into the flywheel, put a bar through those two bolts, and turned the bolt holding the flywheel to the crank.  JImChuk

I had the spark plugs in ,and held it with my hand and used a impact gun. I could see using the pin if I was working on the other end of the motor.

  9. Jared,  I opened and read the service manual that Yamma-Fox posted:  It did say that you need to insert a special pin into the crank because without it you "could" damage the crankcase while removing bolt.  That don't mean that you trashed the engine.  ???  EDMO

    So how do you confirm?

  10. Is their a place to stick a steel pin into the crank to stop the motor from turning over while removing c box. The reason I ask is the person who was going to buy my motor says that is how you have to do it to remove the 19mm bolt that holds the stock rubber puck. I used a impact gun and it came out easy.. Thanks

  11. Need help. the person I was going sell the motor to  tomorrow says that I could have ruined the motor, buy not putting a steel pin through a hole against the crank to hold the motor from turning over when I removed the 19 mm bolt? The bolt came out real easy with a impact gun. Cant find any imfo on line thanks need comfirmation.

  12. I was going to remove my c box tomorrow any secrets I should know? I sold the motor.

  13. Already have the box. Need to take it off the motor. Hopefully going off island this coming Monday or tue.

  14. The integrated purpose built Apex Gearbox is coming Along. I should be machine my first housing in about a month.

Do you have a price point on the purpose built apex gear with built in adapter? How about a wiring solution? Looks like my motor sold so next week I will either pick up a rx1 or a apex, do you need a  guinea pig?

  16. The motor cycle slaves are $50 bucks I need 4, The mc4 are 175 each ouch. I don't know about plumbing the back pressure from one to the other.

Jared,  I think I can ship you 4 used Matco MC4 brake cylinders for $200.  They don't have the fork at the top end, but have a hole in the rod end, so you have to make a fork on your pedals to make them work - not a big deal.  You probably need to study the 2.5 : 1 ratio (pedal height to attachment tab length ratio) that makes them work best - I think it is on the Matco site.  Or, get some info from others here.   Most everyone on here has had to modify their pedals and MC attachment tabs to get better brakes.  C5Engineer's pedals are not the factory pedals - they are modified.  I have several sets of MCs - got to check inventory.     EDMO

Sounds good and thanks, let me do a little research , need to know if these can be plumbed together.

  18. Does any body know why you could not use rear back brake slave for toe brakes, maybe off a larger bike. Maybe  you cant plumb them in line? The larger bikes are around 4-600lbs and they have a mechanical dis advantage with the large rear wheel.

  19. While I had the winshield apart I decided to remove the old dash cover and put something else on. Got this at JoAnn Fabric for $3.00. It’s trunk liner.  It’s also used to cover speaker boxes. One can of 3m spray adhesive and I was in business.

  20. Steve Henry is running the Berringer set up on his latest Highlander and seems to like it.I️ am running the Shockmonster set up on my Avid. We had to mod the latest version of the Avid Bushgear to make the struts fit right. I still need to spend a day a do a tuning session with him as I don’t think I’m getting near what they are capable doing out of them.

Looks real clean. What tires are those? How tall is your prop hub off the ground? How much travel can the wheel move?
