Luckily I can make you a sweet beer tap
Couple more of the incident on my doorstep, a little too close for comfort! A few broken lights and chairs blown back but the beer tap survived...

Hey Joey shoot me a text ..... I know someone looking for parts .
Might want to keep the radiator Joey. I think it will work fine on the 912 as well.... How many hours on the engine, what gear ratio in the gearbox? Ect, ect. After I typed this, I realized you said Kitfox FWF, not Avid. Must not be switching the Avid to the 912 just yet. JImChuk
Jim I’m helping out a local EAA chapter on this deal. Engine was running great at 400 hrs. Gearbox is a 3:1 C box. I’ve already gathered up all the 912 parts I need

Here's my set up with the led lights
Hmm, why not stick a flat led strip directly to the tank and cover with black tape to prevent back bleed? Then the illumination would come from inside the tank and probably highlight the fuel level even better.
Still in the testing phase of it . I did figure out a electronic fuel gauge set up for my plane that I haven't gotten around to doing yet.

I was willing to give you and Vance $100 to take Trents plane for a ride but Vance passed on it haha. Could've been another crazy farmer routine

Like I said I'm a Lockwood fan . They've helped me so many times through the years with parts and what not I usually deal with them only.
-
I've been dealing with Lockwood for so long I would go to them . Also depends on where you live too if that's a factor.

I've never heard anyone putting them on the flaperons so definitely keep us posted .

I couldn't find anyone near me so I ended up reading as much as I could about my mk4 speedwing and since it's a tri gear I picked a nice day and went for it. The plane takes of like a rocket but it's so much fun to fly. I wouldn't recommend what I did with a taildragger since they are a little squirly on the ground . I flew a ton of lsa planes so I kind of had a idea what to expect. Good luck with the transition training they are definitely fun to fly .

I'll take a picture next time I'm at my hanger . I basically took a strip of 3 led lights and put them on a thin clear piece of plastic facing my tank. I had pictures I'll see if I can find them . BTW I have tons of led lights so if you ever want some I have plenty .
-
That's how I did mine but I also added a strip of led lights to help with those not so sunny days .

Couple months ago my dad was diagnosed with lymphoma. It's right behind his eye and is already starting to shrink for some reason. They have him scheduled for all the radiation stuff that goes along with it . Hopefully him and Ed can kick cancers ass. This is a disease they definitely need a cure for . My dad was the one who got me into flying so I owe it to him to keep going and teach my daughters the same thing .

I have a facet saved on my watch list thats around $50 pumping 2-4 psi . I believe 4-6 psi is a little much for my little 582.
-
I probably don't need it then . I still would be interested in a fuel pump if it fits the bill.
-
Gotcha . there's no gascolator in mine . hmmm
-
Is it the standard little gascolator like in a mkIV or something bigger ? Mine is about as big around as a coke can and maybe 16" tall . Also what kind of fuel pumps and psi ? I've been toying with the idea of adding one to mine like everyone else is doing .
Thank you for the kind words TJay. As far as the parts left, there are 2 props, both LH, a 64" three bade IVO, and a two blade 66" Powerfin electric fuel pumps, gascolator, controls, (mixer, joystick, rudder pedals) tail feathers, and stuff like that. Instruments as well. Dual CHT, EGT, senders for them. I think both were new last August, ASI, (only goes to 80) Props are both in real good shape. Probably should put the stuff on ebay. That usually works good for smaller stuff. If anything is of interest to anyone, let me know. JImChuk

Ya, they're gone. I shipped both motors off today as well, so now she has got back a bit over the price of the 65 Hirth bought last August. Got some smaller parts, and 2 props, so maybe get $1000 more if we are lucky. Oh well, if I wasn't helping her, she wouldn't have gotten half of it. JImChuk
what kind of smaller parts are left ?
Fibreglass seat base wanted for an Avid Flyer Heavy Hauler

I have the fiberglass seat now and always wondered what the sling seat looks like and if I would have to modify anything for it to work. My seat sits almost vertical making long flights kind of miserable.
