I just run the standard handheld antenna and a ptt off that . It works way better then my external antenna. When I was hooked up to my external it was always noisy . With the rubber handheld antenna it's really quiet and I can still hear about 35 miles away.

Looks like it's a plane that isn't being built anymore. Gross weight was like 1800lbs . It would be neat but a hyperbipe would be way better to build off of . You could tube and fabric that plane.

Actually the hirth is close in weight to a loaded 582 . It'll be close but you shouldn't have any problems with cg .

You never know . In my 20 years building and flying experimental aircraft there's a lot of stuff I've seen go wrong that shouldn't have . Not necessarily to my aircraft but others. I go by a thinking of if it doesn't need to be done don't do it unless you're willing to pay for the consequences. It's not my plane so it's not my business just putting my 2 cents worth.

The testing is done pretty much how you said it . Add weight and wait for something to fail. The real question is do you want to risk damaging a wing and having to rebuild it ?

I have a yaesu ft 310 in mine . I have the option of rechargeable battery or using AA batteries. I also have the cigarette lighter charger too . It seems to work great , I can hear my home airport 35 miles away using just the rubber ducky antenna. Here's the link , I only use the radio feature I haven't figured out the vor or nav stuff yet.

Looks like a dirt bike shock hooked up to me . If it is damn dis you add some weight to that plane . Might end up bending something really easy.

Regular clear packing tape on the top and bottom . make sure you deflect the stab each way while installing so it can attach in the middle . It's the one thing I've been meaning to do but keep forgetting.

Remember to check that rpm on climb . All my temps were high because it was pitched for climb and it made it run higher rpms for everything resulting in higher temps. Not sure if I'm making any sense but that's what happened before I re pitched for cruise.

Can anyone post pictures of the sling seat ? I'm going to see a specialist soon about surgery on my lower back . I've got to many issues with it and need something done asap so I can actually get to have fun and not be in constant pain . All the years of playing is definitely catching up on my fast .

Well it looks like 2 good ideas to me. Luckily for me I'm 5'8 and 150 lbs so I don't need to do any widening. It comes with a downfall too , I need a cushion so I can see over the dash of a 172 . My loehle 5151 also needed some seat mods so I could actually see too. Sometimes it's good being small sometimes not so much . The only thing I don't like about the avid seat is that it sits so straight up .

Haha we're holding 90° and up . I can't remember the last time it was cold for Halloween in Florida. My downfall is the 90% rain chances this weekend . I was hoping to get back in the air .
