I was going to bring my manual home today but forgot in the rush to get home and finish my hurricane prep. If you still need the avid one I'll be going out to inspect my hanger after the hurricane and will grab it then .

We're as ready as we can be . Hopefully it doesn't build back up and turns sooner . Sounds like South Florida is going to get the worst of it . My neighbor and I helped each other get our houses ready . My other neighbor is goooone. They bought all there supplies and ended up hauling a$$ somewhere instead of staying. I'm pretty sure they did the same thing a couple months ago for a storm we had. It leads me to believe they haven't lived in Florida long. Be safe and hopefully nothing bad happens.

Looks like Irma is going to be coming right where I'm at . Luckily I'm not in any evacuation or flood zones . Sunday night monday morning is when it's expected to be in my area. There's absolutely no gas anywhere so this morning when I went to my hanger to make sure everything was secure I filled a couple of 5 gallon gas cans with avgas just in case I need to get the family out.I'll be posting pictures of anything interesting going on . So far a old rotted tree next door fell .

There are a couple of kitfox owners around where I'm at that I don't think are on here . One guy has a newly finished kitfox 4 with a lycoming or continental in it and another in a trailer at a rundown ultralight airport . I'm trying to find out what's going on with the one sitting .

I know I made sure my hanger was straightened up and made sure my gantry was locked so my motor will stay about 4 ft off the ground . I'm sure he's keeping that motor safe that's a big investment compared to my little old 582gh

Your welcome . When I did mine I thought 50 was to much because I could barely compress them on the ground but good old geometry made sense.

Good to hear someone else besides me was prepared. I'm not a prepper by any means but having a family and living here practically my whole life I always have most things handy for storms. Hell we get just regular rain storms down here that make you think it was a hurricane. Good luck Mark sounds like we should be ok.

Your idle should be set at 2k that's where your roughness is coming from . I had a old tach that was reading off by almost 800rpms with a tiny tach . I replaced it and now they both match. I'm pretty certain mine running a little rough when I first got it was from the plane sitting and the faulty gauge showing a lower rpm . It was reading 2k on the dash and the tiny tach was around 1700rpms at cruise I thought I was around 5900 rpms when I was actually only around 5300. When I went through everything and changed the tach I noticed a big difference in performance. My plane has a little over 230 hours on it since being built so you can imagine how long it sat for.

Weeki wachee is where I am home of the mermaids . I'm a few miles from the gulf but my house is on a hill about 15ft up from the road . I believe Mark is in Lake city kind of dead center north of Orlando and Jim I believe is in Ocala west of Orlando somewhat.

I think you're right and from what my foggy memory tells me they both were a few months out from supplying anything. $1000 for a couple fiberglass strips ? Are the not using respirators when they make it ? That just seems outrageous to me .

I think Mark and Jim might be getting hit worse then anyone . If I remember right they are pretty much in the middle of the state. I'm hoping it keeps on that east coast track since I'm on the west coast . Who knows maybe I'll have manatees swimming in the streets afterwards. My bloodhound pup should be interesting during the storm it's his first hurricane. He just turned 2 so we'll see what happens.

Is he the same guy that got the rights or what not to avid or is it something different ? I think the guy that got the molds was in Minnesota or something but my memory is just as bad from to many head injuries .

Might be a stupid question but what about the guy that bought the molds ? Any idea how far out he is from producing ? I still kick myself in the ass for not buying them . At the time I had the money but getting them was the big hassle in the end .

We did somewhat the same thing when I was building gyrocopters for a company. It made a difference even after synchronizing the carbs with the right tools. I think every rotax has some kind of rough spot in it. My 582 has one around the 2200rpm mark . I've done everything I can think of to smooth it out but it's still there a little bit.

I might have to side with them on the Alaska thing. With all the broken bones , arthritis and the metal from all my surgeries the cold isn't for me . I went to my brothers house last winter and it hit in the low 20's . I felt like the tin man walking around in that weather. Visiting the snow is fun but I couldn't live anywhere that snowed all the time .

We got a ton of inedible animals down here . I think it's funny when out of town people go fishing catch salt water cat fish and find out it's not edible like fresh water . Tons of nasty stuff on the food chain here .

I got a 2 smoke with training wheels . Runs great except the stator issue. I'd rather be able to lay on the brakes then not see over my dash. I took my mom flying and just as our wheels touched a flock of sand crains decided to land next to the runway and start walking across. If I had a taildragger I probably would've been buying a new fwf .
