Damping Box- Rotax 532

I have a Rotax 532 that had the contact breaker ignition unit replaced with an electronic ignition system. In the repair manual from Rotax for this engine, the wiring diagram shows a damping box for the contact breaker system and not for the electronic system. I understand the function of this damping box, however, why is it not shown or needed on the electronic ignition system?

 Thanks for any insight!

I believe the dampening box snubs back EMF developed when the breaker points open. This function is probably done with diodes across the solid state switching devices in the electronic ignition modules. At least that would be my guess.

Thanks Chris. My electrical knowledge on something like this is limited. Just had to ask the community. With points becoming a rarity, I would assume the term “dampening box “ has not been part of the vocabulary any longer.
