Ideal Idle RPM

Team,

I am looking for what everyone has there idle rpm set to? I have the Rotax 670. I have been seeing 2200-2500, is this correct? Also do you have your throttle control set to when it is all the way pulled out it is set to this idle speed or do you have it set a little lower and just add a bit of throttle to bring rpm up.

Thanks again.

Not a 670, but on my 582, with stock jets I could never get idle below about 2200 rpm without it hammering and running rough. It was way too rich. If I remember right stock idle jets are 55.  After re-jetting I can idle down to about 1700 before it gets rough and that is with 40 or 45 idle jets. I set idle to wherever it will not quit or run too rough on the ground. Right now it is set about 1600 rpm which is fine and smooth until the last part of roll-out on landing and then it starts to hammer a bit and I just bring the throttle in enough to smooth it out.
