Posted 27 Apr 2022 Interesting what you say, Allen. I'm now re-doing a " never really started " Raven clone of a KF1 into a single seater with a Verner 5Cyl radial engine. Upgrades to KF3 or so specs with slightly taller and much wider gear like the "Tweety bird" on Youtube. Larger dorsal fin and more size to the rudder and elevator. Electric Elev trim. Center seat, entry mainly from the left side door and sidestick on the right, left hand throttle, rudder / brake pedals more or less centered. 72 x 48 prop. Posted 27 Apr 2022 Nice! The last kitfox about did me in. Think my complete rebuilding days are about over. Parts and materials are getting pricy along with aircraft. At this age and stage, putting 35-40K into a bird to fly once a week (maybe) doesn't make sense to me anymore. Cheap aircraft days are over and behind us. Posted 28 Apr 2022 (edited) The good deal usually depends on if you're the buyer or the seller. Compared to new kit prices, yes there are some deals still out there. Not as many as there once was, but that is with everything any more. My A&P ticket still keeps me in the game. But even the old A&P's are slowly fading away.
