 Will a Model B Avid cowling fit a Kitfox 4?  I'm using a Rotax 912 UL engine.

Anything can be made to work, I would say the width of the firewalls is pretty much the same.  A lot depends on what engine you have.  Kitfox put the two stroke engines plugs up, Avid mounted them inverted.  That meant the Kitfox cowl had to be higher than the Avids.  JImChuk

Would that apply to the Rotax 912 UL?

The 912 doesn't sit as high up as the 582 does in the Kitfox.  I have a Kitfox smooth cowl on my Kitfox 4 with a 912, and you can see it sits pretty low.  If you look at my flying videos you can see the cowl is real low when I'm flying.  The camera is at my eye level, and I'm about 5' 9".  JImChuk

Thanks Jim, I appreciate your opinion.  I will put the cowling on and check the thrust line.  If it works out I will use it as a base and do some glass work to create the nose look.  Again, your opinion is appreciated.  Thanks.  JimBob (Kitfox flyer in Arkansas)
