Is a KF 2 frame symmetrical ?

Hi everyone

Is a kitfox frame symmetrical ?

I read somewhere that the vertical stabiliser is slightly offset to account for prop wash.

I did a search on here but found nothing that really helps.

I would imagine it is all symmetrical as there was a choice of engines but I thought some of the KF2 gurus may know.

Cheers,

Skelly.

I believe the model 1 thru 3 was not offset. Haven't a clue about 4 thru 7. I know my model 2 is not offset cause I checked it with a laser level.

Cheers @Allen Sutphin

That's exactly what I was after,

I'm checking mine out with a laser level also.

Cheers.

When I got my model 4 from Skystar in '91 I ask their engineer Dave Snell about engine placement and vertical offset. He said centerline the engine and the earlier Model 4's weren't  offset due to builders using 912's, 582's, and various other engines.

My model 1 was 3 degrees off. I straightened it out.

Early Avids had the vertical stabilizer offset, but don't know if Kitfoxes were as well.  JImChuk

PS,  I typed this this afternoon, and it didn't go out.

Mine could have been straightened out, but from looking at the bare fuselage it doesn't appear to have been rewelded anywhere.  Using two laser levels, one on each side of the vertical, they both were equal distance apart on the crosstubes above the headrack from center.

Both of my IVs are/were straight VS.

The elevator has some differential to it, though.
